Hideo Kojima is one of the best and most popular video game designers of today, responsible for beloved titles like Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding. Speaking of the latter, Death Stranding is an incredibly popular adventure game, made by Kojima Productions and published by Sony in 2019. A lot of popular Hollywood stars helped out with creating it, with most notable being the actor Norman Reddus (most popular for his role as Daryl Dixon in the series Walking Dead) who was the model for the protagonist. Other notable celebrities were featured as well, such as Gullermo Del Toro, Léa Seydoux, and Mads Mikkelsen, to name a few.

The game was a success, scoring 8s and 9s on all the reviews. The talks about the sequel being made began in 2022. It was revealed that it is titled “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach”, during the last State of Play, held on January 31, 2024.
