PlayStation 5 Pro is right around the corner, and among the 50+ games that will get updated for it is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which just got the PS5 Pro Patch.
Final Fantasy is one of the world’s most popular video game franchises. The first game was released way back in 1987 and has since released 15 major installments (Finals Fantasy XVI released in 2023), and a bunch of spinoffs, anime, manga, and novels. Regardless of your platform or genre of choice, every gamer everywhere has heard of Final Fantasy.
On November 7, Sony’s latest console will be released. PS5 Pro uses the latest technology (like AI-driven upscaling) to bring the best possible gaming experience to its players. More and more games release patches that allow them to benefit from all PS5 Pro’s features the closer we get to the release date.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Gets the PlayStation 5 Pro Patch
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (2024) is the second part of the planned trilogy remaking the whole of Final Fantasy VII from 1997 (the first being Final Fantasy VII Remake from 2020). On November 4, Square Enix released Patch 1.050 which updates the game for PS5 Pro.
“This update contains fixes for some bugs and improvements in functionality and stability while also implementing “Versatility Mode”, offering a new experience for all PlayStation 5 Pro players from launch on Thursday.”
FFVII Rebirth will look stunning on PlayStation 5 Pro, making it one of the best games to play on that console. Naturally, the Final Fantasy fans went wild.
The Crowd Goes Wild
The fans of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will just have to wait for a few more days before they can experience their favorite game in an updated version. A lot of them say that they can’t wait to give it another go. “I’ll be starting my playthrough on Thursday, on PS5 Pro. Can’t wait.” said NimblyBimbly69, “Glad I waited with 2nd playthrough,” commented marciniuuk, and “Can’t wait to continue my playthrough on the Pro” added FromSoftUpdates.
However, a lot of players are asking when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will get a PC port, now that PS5 Pro is out of the way. Unfortunately, the devs are silent on that topic, but everything points towards it being released somewhere in 2025 (the sources all give different dates). Whatever the case, Final Fantasy fans are in for a treat when PS5 Pro releases on Thursday.
