After changing things up for their 60-day plan, it seems that the devs are back to their regular schedule. That means that every Tuesday brings a small update that will contribute to the game’s stability. This week was no exception. The Helldivers 2 developers announced the new patch and players quickly singled out a, now controversial, fix to Raise the Flag missions.
One Fix Stands Out in the Latest Helldivers 2 Patch
On November 5, the devs posted extensive patch notes on the official Discord channel. This patch delivered Crash Fixes, the Raise the Flag objective difficulty fix, and Miscellaneous fixes. Now, there are some great fixes in this relatively small patch. For example, the devs fixed several issues with the SOS beacons. Also, the players’ names and chats shouldn’t disappear anymore.
However, one resolved “issue” was quite controversial. The devs announced a long-expected fix to the Raise the Flag missions. They noted: “Reduced enemy spawn rates during the “Raise Flag” objective in Spread Democracy missions to make the objective easier to complete”.
Some players gladly welcomed this fix. One of them, ____IIIII___ll__I, noted: “Thought I was going crazy. Genuinely felt like I was trying to push back The Rumbling with how many Bile Titans spawned at once and just wouldn’t stop spawning”.
Another player, LilithSanders, stated: “That bug was devastating. Particularly when you had the bug where no players join your lobby at the same time. Have you ever tried to do a level 9 or 10 spread democracy with 1 person? Literally impossible”.
Some Helldivers Would Prefer Raise the Flag to Be More Difficult
Well, in an incredible twist, the majority of Helldivers 2 players were quite mad that the patch provided a fix to the issue with spawn rates in Raise the Flag missions. They have overflown social media with posts mourning the nearly impossible missions.
Used-Presentation551 shared: “I really liked Raise the Flag difficulty. I almost exclusively dive dif10. Sometimes when I want a fun challenge I specifically choose Raise the Flag. I hate that they lowered its difficulty”.
It seems that the more hardcore player truly enjoyed the challenge. FaoileanGael noted: “I actually do miss that flag raise, that s**t was so much fun, especially on bots. Me and a random squad completed 2 of them and it was the most fun I’ve had on the bot front in a long time. This is what D10 should have been. Helldivers with weapons as effective as they are now, Vs a relentless foe that will punish any mistake in the team composition and teamwork”.
If we were being honest, we truly enjoyed the sheer chaos of these missions. However, it’s only fair for these missions to be well-balanced for all players. We’re sure the devs will come up with something that’ll allow those who love mayhem to truly enjoy it. In the meantime, join the bugdivers, and let’s complete this Major Order, it’ll bring us even closer to the Democracy Space Station. For Liberty and Super Earth.
