Palworld community is one of the closest-knit communities out there. They are often there for each other, offering advice and tips. Now, they have united in their request for Palworld developers to add more variety to Pal types.
Which Types Are the Most Common?
One dedicated player, Bestow5000, took to Reddit and expressed their concerns. This player said: “Please PocketPair, no more Dark or Dragon types for now. The majority of the game’s best Pals are either Dark or Dragon. Not just that, some of the rarest are one of the two types, too. We got Shadowbeak, Orserk, Necromus, Frostallion Noct, Jetragon, Bellanoir, Selyne, Blazamut Ryu, Xenogard, Xenovader and more”.
They mused: “What happened to other types like Ice or Fire? Sure, we got some but that isn’t enough. The Darks or Dragons are so good that it feels like you’re missing out if you don’t add them to the team. I’d love to see more of other types without Dragon or Dark be put in it. Give more types the high-tier treatment, please”.
Another player, Prestigious_Object98 pointed out: “In my opinion, Water, Grass, and Electric need some love. There are like 5 usable Water types in the game for combat and 4 of them are part dragon”. And, actually, that’s completely true, Jormuntide, Azurobe, Elpihdran Aqua, and Relaxaurus are all part Dragon.
One remaining Water Pal, Suzaku Aqua, hasn’t gained a lot of fans. GORDON1014 gave a pretty sad review of this pal. They noted: “This was my first dedicated Water fighter that I bred up and even though I wasn’t expecting much I was still disappointed”.
Palworld Would Benefit From a Bigger Variety of Pal Types
One Palworld player, YoDa_1802, explained why having two Pal types is actually progress. They said: “For regular pals, like Hoocrates or Daedream, I don’t find it too bad if they have a type that just happens to be more common. But actually, before the update, it was almost exclusively Dark, and the update added Xenoguard and Blazamut Ryu”.
They added: “That gave Dragon Pals some presence. The same update unfortunately also added more Darks but at least it shifted from 1 type to 2. At this rate, we only need 7 major updates for all the other types to have a decent amount of viable Pals”.
AlphaSSB pleaded: “Dark and Dragon, IMO, should be the two least common types, yet they’re everywhere. Please take a break from Dark, PocketPair. Especially now that Nocturnal is a Passive Ability. We definitely need some more Water types. Wouldn’t say no to more Electric types, either”.
There are a lot of Dark types, although adding more Dragon types seems like a step in the right direction. Balancing all the Pals isn’t an easy feat, so you should take that into consideration as well. We are sure that the developers are working on some amazing new Pals that aren’t Dark or Dragon, but it will take some time. Maybe they’ll even make a more complex Aquatic ecosystem, players have asked for it. Until then, enjoy the game and the available Pals.
