Since the release of Once Human, the developers and the community have had a very great cooperation. Whether the devs gave out release day rewards, or quickly solved a gameplay issue, they managed to build up trust with the player base. Unfortunately, that trust may be broken, as lots of Once Human players experienced a disappearing server and the developers haven’t addressed the issue yet.
Dozens of Players Reported the Disappearing Server Issue
At the time of writing this article, it’s been about 12 hours since the first reports came in. Worth-Evidence-1545 noted: “So I made my character on PVE01-00019 and tried logging in today and the server select was blank, went to go select a server from the list and it was gone. The only servers available were 01-20”.
They continued: “My friends are currently on with one literally logging in 5 minutes prior to me. I tried the repairing client, restarting the PC, restarting the game and Steam, and closing it through the task manager each time, and nothing. I can’t even select another server and make a new character”.
Rodknocking reported: “Server is gone and so is my character! Logged in this morning and it’s making me select a server, except PVE01-00033 doesn’t exist in the lists. So what… I guess I’m just done playing the game because I’m not sure I want to do the grind to get back to where I was. I’m a bit baffled and frustrated at the moment”.
Lots of other players seem to have the exact same problem. DimensionResident544 said: “My character is missing and I seem to not be able to find the server it was on. It was on pve01-00028 but I can only see up to server pve01-00022, did my character get deleted? Or is my game bugging? I’ve tried the repair client and restarted my game multiple times”.
The Once Human Community Offers Advice on How to Handle the Issue
The most probable explanation for this disappearing server issue might lie in a small Once Human update. The good news is that your server will probably reappear. TartRadiant330 reported: “Just had a mini-update and when I went to log back into my world it no longer exists”.
Several hours later, this player added: ” Checked a couple hours later and my server is back. Must’ve taken time for my server to update”. Katur explained: “Could be a version mismatch and your server hasn’t updated yet”.
Many players reported the server reappearing after a while, but some are still patiently waiting. Mike_Hunt6290 said: “Same issue, no fix, unfortunately. Someone said their friend changed IP from static to dynamic and that worked but I haven’t tried yet”.
We sincerely hope that everyone’s character is safe and all the players will be able to reconnect to their servers. As for the developers not addressing this issue, well, they’re probably working very hard to fix it. You just have to be patient for a bit more. Maybe think of all the designs you’d like to try out on your house. We are certain that this issue will be resolved soon.
