Call of Duty returns this year with the third installment of the rebooted Modern Warfare series, that means another multiplayer mode and cross platform to rank up in. Previous Call of Duty games have allowed players to play with whoever with cross platform play, but will Modern Warfare 3 follow on the same path? This guide will show players whether the game will have cross platform play and cross platform progression.

Does MW3 Have Cross Platform Play?
The game will have cross-platform multiplayer play when it launches on November 10. The feature will be available for all versions of the game including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam or Battle.net.
That means players will be able to play against and group up with each other, regardless of platform used. It is the same as the previous Call of Duty games with the first Modern Warfare in 2019, Black Ops Cold War, Vanguard, and Modern Warfare II.
Following the previous games, it will most likely be possible to disable crossplay though with some exceptions. Players would be able to disable crossplay between PlayStation and other platforms, but not between Xbox and PC.
Does Modern Warfare 3 Have Cross Platform Progression?
Since previous Call of Duty have included the feature, it will also be very likely that cross platform progression will be present in MW3. Cross platform progression allows players to transfer their current progress between platforms, as long as they have a copy of the game for each and an Activision ID to log into.
