Looking to find out if Starfield is including multiplayer? Bethesda has shown the game off in trailers with a single-player experience fighting bandits on planets and roaming the galaxy, but will there be a Starfield multiplayer mode? This guide will help answer the questions if there is multiplayer and can play the game alongside friends online and couch co-op.
Can You Play Starfield With Friends?
Starfield is a single-player game, so it is not possible at all to squad up in the game. This accounts for both PC and Xbox versions. This is in line with most of the previous Bethesda titles from the Game Studios like The Elder Scrolls, Elder Scrolls VI, and Fallout franchises that are singleplayer games only.
The developer released Fallout 76 back in 2020, but the game is more of an MMO than a standard game that contains multiplayer mode. Meanwhile, The Elder Scrolls Online is also an MMO and was developed by Zenimax Game Studios.
Will Starfield be Co-Op?
Since Starfield is a single-player game, it does not contain any online co-op modes. It may be unfortunate for some players who were hoping for Bethesda’s version of No Man’s Sky, which does include co-op online multiplayer but will settle for exploring the universe alone.
It is possible that modders may be able to create an online co-op multiplayer mod sometime after release, similar to the Skyrim Together Reborn mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but would be unofficially supported and only available for the PC version.
Is Starfield Couch Co-Op?
Considering that Starfield is a singleplayer experience and does not include online co-op, it will also not contain local co-op of any kind. Couch co-op not being included is hardly surprising, as the game looks gorgeous and will be graphically intense. The game would not run well at all with two players on a split screen.
