With Final Fantasy XVI on the horizon, many players wondered if Noctis from FF15 will be in the game as well. While it may be an odd question on the surface, they do have a good point. The character design between Noctis and our new protagonist, Clive Rosfield look suspiciously similar.

This has brought many fans to speculate about the identity and relations between the two. So the question remains — will Noctis be in Final Fantasy 16? Read on, because we’ll answer that question in this article.

Will Noctis Be In FF16?

While Final Fantasy 16 follows its predecessor sequentially, the storylines and “worlds” between the two are entirely different. Therefore, Noctis Lucas Caelum from FF15 won’t be in FF16. Clive Rosfield is an entirely new protagonist with no relation to Noctis.

The story of Final Fantasy 16 is wholly original while keeping some of the recurring themes that have been present in the franchise for a long time. Despite the fans confusing the two characters, there are no touching points between the fifteenth and sixteenth game.

The stories look to be dissimilar as well. Clive will have a party of new original characters to travel with, including Jill Warrick, Cidolfus Telamon, and his faithful hound Torgal. They will face off against the threat of Eikons while exploring the story surrounding the death of Clive’s brother Joshua.

Meanwhile, Noctis’ story revolved around revenge and the fight to reclaim his homeland from the Niflheim empire. The tone between the two games will likely be quite different. Especially when we consider the whole new combat system that Final Fantasy 16 introduces.

Therefore, despite the odd physical similarities between the two, Noctis and Clive are completely different characters from different worlds. And that means that there’s almost no chance that Noctis will appear in Final Fantasy 16.
