Aloy’s story in Horizon: Forbidden West is about to continue with the Burning Shores expansion. While players have known that this was coming for some time now, Guerilla Games has finally released information on when the Burning Shores pre-order will start and what bonuses are included. That’s right, DLC pre-order bonuses are now a thing.
When is Horizon: Forbidden West: Burning Shores available for Pre-Order?
In a post made by Guerilla’s Game Director, Mathijs de Jonge, players are getting their first glimpse at what’s to come with Horizon: Forbidden West’s DLC, Burning Shores. Pre-orders are available on March 22, 2023, and the expansion will launch on April 19, 2023. That means there’s still enough time for players to get through Horizon: Forbidden West’s engrossing story and prepare for their trek into the Forbidden West.

What’s included with the Horizon: Forbidden West: Burning Shores Pre-order
Players that pre-order the expansion will also receive the following:
- Blacktide Dye Outfit (available at the first dye merchant)
- Blacktide Sharpshot Bow (available from the first merchant in the Burning Shores)
It’s a bit unusual for an expansion or piece of DLC to have pre-order bonuses. We suppose that Oblivion’s horse armor is to blame for all of this. However, those that were already interested in the expansion had probably decided long ago that they would get it. Pre-ordering with the incentive of some extra goodies doesn’t hurt. Note that the Burning Shores DLC is a continuation of Forbidden West and players will need to complete the main campaign missions to experience it.
