While we all wait for something shiny and new to play with, it’s good to keep the hype alive. By now, all players know that the current roster of the Illuminate is just a vanguard. Even more units are bound to join the war. So, what should you expect from the Illuminate in the future? Well, according to some new leaks, Helldivers 2 players will have to deal with an unusual status effect as a result of Dark Fluid attacks.
Leaks Suggest the Dark Fluid Status Effect Might Make Some Helldivers Queasy
True veterans might remember using Dark Fluid back on Meridia before it was obliterated and turned into a wormhole. You might remember that the Super Earth scientists used the Dark Fluid even though they didn’t truly understand it, and, well, it was fun. However, we are quite sure that it wouldn’t be that much fun if the Dark Fluid was used against Helldivers.
As it turns out, the Illuminate actually know how to harvest and use the Dark Fluid, and it might cause some huge troubles later on. However, using it against Helldivers will also be troublesome for the players, as it might cause awful effects.
One devoted Helldivers 2 leaker, IronS1ghts, shared a first look at the leaks of updated status effect following Dark Fluid attacks. They noted: “(Leak) Dark Fluid Status Effect. Recently updated status effect caused by dark fluid attacks. It also has “hallucinogenic effects”, but I’m not sure if that’s working right now. The effect seems unfinished. There is also a “Dark Fluid Pull” status effect that is not working yet”.
As per usual, this leaker attached a video of the effect. To show off the effect, the leaker shot at the ground at their feet. Everything became blurry for a couple of seconds. Also, an eerie sound can be heard. Truth be told, we aren’t looking forward to this effect, it’s quite nauseating.
Although several Helldivers noted that this looks like when you have iron deficiency and try to stand up too quickly, many players are looking forward to experiencing this effect. Also, this version may be updated before going live. So, enjoy seeing clearly while finishing up the current Major Order. For Liberty and Super Earth.
