With Helldivers focused on Claorell, Joel advances Automatons towards our DSS Logistics Hub

Those sneaky Automatons are not playing around. Guided by Joel’s invisible hand, the bots have launched a two-pronged attack that threatens to debilitate our efforts to complete the DSS. Along with the latest push to reclaim Claorell, they also seem to be pushing through Vernen Wells towards Tarsh, the site of our Logistics Hub.

The Automaton push could easily spread the players too thin

In a community PSA on Reddit, Bianoguy posted an interesting discovery. While we’re all battling for Claorell once more, the Automatons are sending a second wave towards Tarsh. “Just a PSA. While we are holding Claorell, we need to also defend Tarsh. The bots are advancing on two fronts and if the Logistics Hub is destroyed, the DSS will be delayed.” states the original thread.

Evidently, the bots are going for the throat, launching a series of offensives that seem as desperate as they are deadly. We could be spread too thin trying to defend the largely unpopular Automaton front, though there’s evidence that more players have been paying attention lately. There’s a beacon of light in the dark though, as some have noticed that there’s a mathematical chance to fulfil both objectives.

It’s possible to defend both planets, though unlikely

SomeMoodyGuy explained the conundrum: “As impossible as it may sound, as soon as we defend Claorell it’s still possible to defend Vernen. It would just take literally everybody on Claorell to move planets and either: A. Everybody else in the game to join the defense. B. Everybody else not fighting to defend Vernen to log off. It would be tight, down to the last minute, but if we could have either of those things happen, we’d defend Vernen Wells and have two of the three defenses required done. That said, expect Vernen to fall, and an attack on Gaellivare to distract us as they build up forces on Wells to attack Tarsh.”

Many commenters are split on how to approach this. Some propagate the idea of abandoning Vernen Wells and focus on Claorell, then swap to Tarsh when the time comes. Others believe that there’s still hope of success to keep Vernen even while managing the Claorell defense. It’s a true conundrum and an interesting time to join the dives. Just make sure to support the Automaton front, because that’s where Joel’s conducting his latest symphony.
