The Freyna’s Encrypted Vault Shop, infamous for being tricky to log into, is a relatively new addition to TFD, where you spend points (accumulated by doing “dailies”) to get some instant rewards. You can get some valuable items, like Crystallization Catalysts and weapon parts, and some more common ones, like Gold and Kuiper. But, after doing some simple math, a lot of players realized that getting Gold via that shop is a bit wasteful and there is a better alternative.
Gold Boosters Are Better Value
For 1 point in the Vault Shop, you can get 200.000 Gold. But, for 5 points, you can get a 5-hour 30% boost in your Gold gains. The idea is to get the Gold Boost and then do some Special Operations or Invasions. Those missions yield a ton of Gold, and that 30% Boost will “outpace” the 1.000.000 Gold you can get in the Shop for 5 points.
“Better yet, if you’re usually online when the dailies roll over (like me) you can then do your invasions every other day and clear eight of them on a single booster. This nets you 3 million, a 300% better ROI!” said Green_Hotel7995 in their Reddit thread on this subject. User wandering_idiot agrees, adding: ”Better use of the gold boosts is to use them for two days’ worth of invasions. Activate one an hour or two before reset, do the 4 invasions for the day, then do the 4 after the reset. Nets you over 3M. Way better than 1M.”
When Should You Get Gold Instead of a Booster
The previous comments are great, but only for those who can easily do Special Operations and Invasions. For newer players out there, those whose Gold gains are still not that high, getting 200.000 for a single point may be a sensible choice. If they recently started playing TFD and have managed to get some Vault Shop points, better to use a spare point if it will help them progress faster.
We’d like to add that another sensible usage of 1 point for Gold is when you need just a bit of Gold right now (for example, to start a research before going to bed or a similar situation), then it is quite okay to spend a point for Gold if you don’t have the time to bother with another Mission.
However you look at it, the Vault Shop Points are free but have a limited “lifespan”. Remember that the Shop will be available until November 6, so you better spend your Points before that, lest they go to waste.
