Facing More Enemies Isn’t the Greatest Concern for Level 10 of Helldivers 2
The Helldivers 2 community has been abuzz over the announcement of the biggest update so far. The Escalation of Freedom update will feature some great additions, such as the Impalers and QoL improvements, as well as a whole new level of difficulty, level 10 – Super Helldive. After the initial hype had quieted down, the Helldivers 2 community realized they had one glaring concern over level 10.
Level 10 Might Come With More Performance Issues
The creators of Helldivers 2 stated: “Something that continues to amaze us is our players’ insatiable desire for more bugs, more bots, more liberation, and more destruction… CR 10: Super Helldive is our most challenging, most relentless dive difficulty level yet, and we hope that this is going to give players the intensity they’re looking for on the battlefield”.
Initially, the community was over the moon. Those players who have been playing on difficulty 9 for a while would finally get something more challenging. It took the players a couple of days of daydreaming to realize that adding an entirely new level of difficulty might have a great impact on the game’s performance.
Mr-Mne noted: “If you’re adding D10 with even more enemies, you’ll first have to fix the existing performance issues. More enemies = less FPS”. For the Super Helldive to function something has to change radically with the game and its current performance issues
FrequentZebra-no786 said: “Tbh, when I saw the trailer, the first thing I expressed was a concern, thinking “Ohh they have to tweak so much s**t to keep the game intact. There’s nothing bad to adding stuff to the game but knowing past experience, I pray to democracy to make it all work correctly”.

Helldivers 2 Players Expressed a Concern Over FPS Drops
The biggest concern that the Helldivers 2 community has about the level 10 difficulty is that it will lead to more FPS issues. Dangerous_Turnover30 explained: “When the game released, I was getting 120 FPS on average, and now it’s consistently hovering around 45-50 every game, same hardware/specs. Arrowhead desperately needs to take a look at what is causing these performance issues”.
Several PS5 players reported they couldn’t play the missions on the planets with the latest biome. MajorUranus said: “Can’t even play Gacrux on PS5, once trees start falling my game turns into a slideshow”. SenseisSifu added: “The added Stratagems for the MO this past week really showed how unstable the game was”.
Still, some players showed some cautious optimism, mainly through disbelief. CombosNKills noted: “How is it possible to release all this content, fix the massive list of day 1 issues, AND essentially upgrade or optimize the engine to run significantly more content than it did before? If they can do this AND fix the game, I’ll believe God exists again”.
Well, we sincerely hope that Arrowhead is up to the task. This update might be the one that makes or breaks the game. We’re sure the devs will step up their game and the players just need to be patient for a little while longer. Until then, you can choose between the bot front and the bug front. The Major Order still hasn’t been completed, so pick up your Commando and get to it.
