With Hades 2 being a sequel, it is natural to expect many improvements and new game features to be added, but is multiplayer one of them? Original Hades was an amazing roguelike game, but exploring the Underworld on your own can get lonely after some time.

The addition of multiplayer to the game would change that, and playing with others sounds like a good thing. On the other hand, the appeal and charm of Hades was the singular struggle trying to escape the Underworld. So let’s see if co-op is a thing in Hades 2.

Does Hades 2 Have a Multiplayer Mode?

No, Hades 2 does not have any sort of multiplayer or co-op options. Following in its predecessor’s footsteps, the game is a fully single-player experience. This is quite disappointing for all who were hoping to share their adventures in the Underworld with others.

Luckily, Hades 2 has greatly improved the original game’s formula and added new and exciting mechanics, like magic and familiars. Meaning that there are many new things to explore and do, even though you cannot share them with friends.

Will Multiplayer be Added With the Full Release of Hades 2?

The game is currently in Early Access, and if you are hoping that multiplayer and co-op will be added later, we have some bad news. According to Supergiant Games, Hades 2 was developed as a single-player game, and they will not change that. This means that even when the game leaves the early access stage, it will not have co-op or multiplayer options.

Although multiplayer has become the standard in modern gaming, it is good to have purely single-player games now and then. Especially if the game is like Hades 2, an exceptional and hard rogue-like experience, that would just be diminished with the presence of other players.
