Fortnite battle royale is no stranger to OP combos. Every season and chapter seems to have theirs, and no amount of vaulting can prevent players from figuring out some new one. A Fortnite player has shared their own OP combo with a weapon that demolishes opposition. He deems it problematic and unenjoyable, drawing attention to Epic’s arbitrary vaulting rules. Fans Discuss the Weapon That Dominates Fortnite This Season
There was a gameplay clip shared on Reddit, courtesy of Psilocybe95. The gameplay showcases everything wrong with a particular weapon that makes the game less fun. In it, he summarily destroys a squad of players in a matter of seconds.
As you probably guessed, the weapon in question is the Double Repeater Rifle. What’s really interesting is that the player admitted that the kills felt unsatisfying and unearned. Comparing it to the vaulted Heavy Sniper, which felt like it took more skill to do the same. Many players agree, though to varying degrees. A few outliers like the new gun, admitting that aiming is not their strong suit, so the OP weapon fits them perfectly.
On the other side, Cereal_Killah_1980 explains what makes the combo so overpowered: […] Yeah that gun is super cheesy. With Soaring Sprints and Shockwaves like you used here it’s basically a GGs. Anytime I’ve had this combo in endgame it’s a wraps. People don’t even know where the shots are coming from half the time and once they figure it out it’s too late. [The] only problem is it’s hard to get both soaring sprints and a handful of shockwaves most of the time. I think it’s even more broken than the balloons and bows combo. […]”
It’s worth noting that this particular combo – Double Repeater + Soaring Sprints + Shockwave Grenades – is available in Zero Build mode only. So that’s at least the silver lining for players playing other modes. But you would still have to contend with the Double Repeater there, so it’s not much of a compromise.
