The June 22 release date is fast approaching, and franchise fans are excited to see how developer Square Enix has decided to drive narrative elements forward without an open world. Following an interview with its developers, it’s clear that Final Fantasy 16 will centralize one character’s story — but who is the protagonist?
Clive Rosfield will take center stage as the main playable character in Final Fantasy 16, as detailed by Square Enix. In a lot of ways, it appears that the newcomer may surprise us with elements we haven’t set seen from the action-fantasy RPG series. Who is the Main Character in Final Fantasy 16?
Square Enix has revealed that Clive Rosfield will serve as the main character in Final Fantasy 16, which is set to release next week. In an interview with the game’s producer, Naoki Yoshida, and art director, Hiroshi Minagawa, it was confirmed that you will primarily play as Clive within a complex story that spans decades and features many supporting characters.
In a separate Square Enix blog post published by Duncan Heaney, we learned a lot more about who Clive is and what role he plays as the main character of Final Fantasy 16. His renown has earned him an immense army and navy, though he prefers to watch wars unfold from the sidelines.
While much remains under wraps just days away from Final Fantasy 16’s launch, this has certainly contributed to the well-earned hype surrounding the new installment.
