Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be released worldwide on February 29, 2024. The official date was most recently confirmed in an X (formerly Twitter) post by developer and publisher Square Enix on January 15, though the remake was first announced during Summer Game Fest 2023.
With just a few days left until launch, players can also get their hands on a playable demo in the meantime. Announced via press release, the demo recently received an update dubbed Dawn of a New Era, which follows up the initial Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim segment and offers demo-exclusive content. The update introduces a portion of the Junon area to explore prior to the full game’s release this month — free of charge.

Starting on February 27, you can pre-load Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PS5 consoles. This becomes available at midnight the day of, allowing you to download the game two days ahead of launch and begin your playthrough immediately when the game drops on February 29.
