While you don’t start out with access to a fishing pole in Coral Island, you’ll receive this item in the early stages of the game. After about three days spent on the island, you’ll get a letter from Sunny and Eleanor, a friendly couple in town. They’ll request that you meet them at the Beach Shack to the south of the island, promising a couple of welcome gifts. Spoiler alert: The pair gives you a bug-catching net and a fishing pole when you meet up with them at the shop.
Regardless of whether you showed more interest in one activity than the other, you’ll be given both tools at the same time. However, they will be sent to you by mail if your inventory is full when you meet the duo at the Beach Shack.
