Do you need to optimize your road network in Cities Skylines 2? This guide will explain how to connect two one-way roads into a single two-way road in Cities Skylines 2.

Maintaining a good road infrastructure can save you many headaches in Cities Skylines 2. Very often heralding the death of a city, traffic jams and inefficiencies can be a nightmare to deal with. Therefore you have to use all available tools to avoid this problem and nip it in the bud. For instance, sometimes you’ll want to connect two one-way roads into a two-way to allow your traffic to flow. So how do you do it? Let’s explore.

Merging two one-way roads into a two-way in Cities Skylines 2

While it’s not difficult to do, there are some primal ways of connecting two one-way roads to a single two-way. For the sake of efficiency, let’s assume that the two one-ways are going in opposite directions. There are two good, simple ways to connect them to your two-way network.

Angle Connection 90°

The easiest way to connect them is by driving both one-ways parallel to each other. Keep the distance three road spaces between them or around 30m. Have them end at the same distance, then curve them at a 90° angle inside. Then, build a two-way road just before the one-ways would connect. This way, you’ll have a neat connection with traffic flowing seamlessly between them.

Roundabout Connection

For a more elegant and somewhat space-saving solution, you can always turn to a roundabout. This version, however, looks to bring two existing one-ways into a two-way connection. Bring the two one-ways to run right next to each other, then split them at the same junction to a circular curve (the roundabout portion). Then, just build a two-way road where the two curves would connect, and you’ll have a seamless connection.
