From Zero to Hero, Omnimovement Enchanted the Call of Duty Players in the Black Ops 6 Beta

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Reveal Fast Forward

Activision proved that some risks were worth taking. When the new mechanic was announced, many players dreaded it would ruin the game. Now, after actually trying the Omnimovement in the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 beta, many players gladly admit they were wrong.

What Is So Special About Omnimovement in Black Ops 6?

For all of the players who didn’t get the chance to try out the Omnimovement in the beta, Activision gave details about what you should expect. They stated: “Across the entire game, players will push beyond their limits with several new global innovations, including Omnimovement, the most fluid boots-on-the-ground Call of Duty movement to date, that utilizes the ability to seamlessly chain combat maneuvers in any direction”.

Players who did get the opportunity to play beta took to Reddit to praise the new mechanic. _YEEZY_ noted: “Look, I get it. I’ve been playing COD since like 2010, and new changes are always met with pushback. But the Omnimovement is a welcome change I like a lot. The tutorial for it was cute and was a good way to introduce us to the new control scheme, and it felt like an actual effort was put forth”.

Other players shared how they had trouble returning to other CoDs. One player, elephandiddies, recalled: “Once they fixed it, holy moly, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. It really feels like you are controlling each limb individually. All the other games I play feel old in comparison now”.

Some Call of Duty Players Raise Valid Concerns About Movement

As you may have expected, some Call of Duty players still had some reservations about Omnimovement in Black Ops 6. For some, the main problem was that this mechanic compensated for a highly important skill all the good players worked on for years.

BigGameMan explained: “I don’t know.  Movement was a skill to be learned.  Now everyone can do it?  It’s like that meme with Omniniman where he says: look what they have to do to use a fraction of our power”.

However, the biggest problem with movement in general was speed. Many players claimed that Omnimovement added even more speed to the already fast-paced gameplay. Much_Adhesiveness871 stated: “It’s the overall movement speed. Too fast to get from one end of the map to the other. 5 seconds and you’re at their spawn”.

As for us, we really enjoyed the new mechanic. Sure, it takes away from movement as a skill, but that allows the players to focus on strategies more. Of course, since this was only the beta, and there is no early access, we’ll confirm our stance once the game drops on October 25.
