The Black Ops 6 beta broke numerous records for Activision
The Call of Duty Black Ops 6 beta has now wrapped up and players will have to wait until October 25th to play the game again. While that isn’t too long to wait, it could feel like a lifetime for some because the response to the beta has been extremely positive, with some calling it the “best Call of Duty game since Black Ops 3.”

Following the conclusion of the Black Ops 6 beta, Activision has announced that it has been the most successful beta in the series’ history. In a post on X, Activision revealed that it was “the biggest Call of Duty beta ever,” with it being ranked first in total players, hours played, the amount of playtime per play, and most matches played.
Call of Duty games have seen pre-release betas since 2008’s World at War, which shows that, despite the series receiving criticism in recent years, there is still an incredibly strong fanbase that is excited about the franchise. Players took to social media to praise the beta, with @Swiftor saying that “4 years of passion were crystal clear in the beta, gonna be the biggest best COD yet,” as well as @GNGNewsCOD being excited to play Black Ops 6 saying “Might as well fire it back up for Weekend 3. Let’s go.”
In a previous post, I detailed my own experience with the Black Ops 6 beta, going as far as to call myself “not a Call of Duty fan.” As a gamer, I usually complete the campaigns and briefly dabble in the multiplayer before moving back to my usual games, such as Fortnite, Helldivers 2, Resident Evil, etc. However, when it came to the Black Ops 6 beta, I ended up logging approximately 60 hours over the course of the two weekends and I am more excited than I have been for a Call of Duty release. It seems that many other casual players are in the same boat and it looks like the future could be bright for Black Ops 6 when it launches next month.
