Baldur’s Gate 3 has a ton of quests and NPCs scattered about, and some of them are well hidden. One of them is Boooal, so this article will explain where to find him in Baldur’s Gate 3, and what to do with him.
BG3 is a top-ranked RPG of 2023. It is chock-full of content, characters, and stories, each expertly detailed. As the game is anything but linear, a homage to its Dungeons & Dragons roots, there is a great chance you will miss out on some interesting hidden content. Exploring every nook and cranny can pay off, as you will see in today’s subject. The Quest with Boooal and his Kuo-toa worshippers is one you can easily miss. So, here is where to find Boooal in BG3.
How to Find Boooal?
To find Boooal, you need to find the secret entrance to The Festering Cove. Start from the Underdark – Beach location. From there, climb the scaffolding to the top. Then head southeast until you reach a path where you have to jump across to go further. Keep to the left and you will come to an area with giant orange mushrooms.
Note that there are glowing orange Torchstalks scattered about that will explode if you come near them, dealing significant damage. Be sure to use some form of a ranged attack to clear them before proceeding. When you reach the cliff and can go no further, you will see large mushrooms protruding out of the wall. Use them to jump down to a small landing, and once there click on the Cragged Rock entrance that leads down. You will be taken to The Festering Cove where you will meet Boooal and his group of Kuo-toa worshippers.

Interaction With Boooal and his Quest in Baldur’s Gate 3
Boooal is a supposed God of Murder that the Kuo-toa are worshipping. The dialogue with them and Boooal was expertly done by Larian Studios which leads to many options on how to handle the situation. This dialogue will require a couple of skill checks from you, and it will start off with a Nature check. You can expose Boooal for what he is (not a deity) and take his place so that Kuo-toa start worshiping you instead, or you can attack all of them.
There is also a dialogue option to work for Boooal, which can grant you powerful rewards. One of the ways to do this is to sacrifice one of your companions permanently for a powerful passive boon for the whole party.
This permanent buff is Boooal’s Benediction which gives Advantage on Attack Rolls against Bleeding targets. The powerful buff you get works on both weapon attacks and spell attacks. Do this only if you really dislike a companion, since every one of them has an interesting story and a personal questline to explore. Some players recommend taking Minthara, from the Goblin Camp, and sacrificing her to get Boooal’s blessing if you don’t plan on taking her as a companion in further Acts.
Another option is to become Booal’s Champion. This will get you the Sickle of Boooal, a magic weapon that grants the bearer the aforementioned Boooal’s Benediction buff. Note that it will give the buff only to the user. You can also take this weapon from Pooldripp the Zealous, a Kuo-toa “priest”, by killing or pickpocketing them.
