Are you intent on getting rid of the parasite the Githyanki way? Then you should look to find the Ghustil in your Baldur’s Gate 3 playthrough.

In Baldur’s Gate 3, one of the central storylines revolves around the desperate quest to rid your character of the illithid tadpole parasite. Among the possible solutions, Lae’zel suggests you seek out a Ghustil for help – a githyanki who serves as something akin to a doctor or a physician. She believes this doctor can remove your tadpole without harming you. That said, the question arises of where to find Ghustil in Baldur Gate 3. Well, let’s dig deep!

How to Find Ghustil in Baldur’s Gate 3

In your quest of trying to remove the mind-controlling parasite, Lae’zel will suggest travelling to the Githyanki Crèche near Rosymorn Monastery to find a Ghustil. Once you reach this location, you can find Ghustil in the Doctor’s Office within the Infirmary at Crèche Y’llek. The exact coordinates are X:1296, Y:-800.

Now that you’ve found the Githynaki scientist, she’ll tell you that she can remove the tadpole from you using a machine called the Zaith’isk. At this point, Lae’zel offers to take your place and try the machine first but doing so will have pretty bad consequences.

Lae’zel and the Zaith’isk Debuff

When Lae’zel insists on taking your place in the Zaith’isk, you can either allow her to do so or try to persuade her to let you go first.

Letting Lae’zel Go First

If you allow her to go through with it, you will gain Lae’zel’s approval. However, a prompt from your Guardian will appear explaining the dangers of the machine, and you’ll start feeling the pain Lae’zel feels in the machine. You can then try to pass a Persuasion check to get her out of the machine. This skill check option will have DC 30, so it is not easy to pass.

If you do manage to pass, Lae’zel forces herself out of the Zaith’isk without acquiring the Zaith’isk debuff but will be angry over the destruction of Creche technology. If you fail the checks, she will still get out of the machine but will acquire the debuff to her mental stats.

Trying the Zaith’isk Before Lae’zel

In the other option, your character goes and sits in the machine before Lae’zel. After some dialogue, the end result is that the Zaith’isk is destroyed, leaving Ghustil angered. Depending on the checks you pass, you will gain either the Awakened buff or the Weakened Constitution debuff. Regardless of the outcome, this will save Lae’zel from acquiring the permanent Zaith’isk debuff.
