Some Valorant Players Demand the Return of One Changed Feature
There are maybe just a few things that are worse than an unnecessary change of a functional feature. Just when you get used to one system, the devs go on and switch to another one, leaving you frustrated with the change. Valorant players are very familiar with this feeling, as they are asking for the return of an important feature.
Lots of Veterans Were Annoyed the Feature Was Changed
Valorant veterans took to Reddit to complain about the system of unlocking new Agents. One player, thesillygoober, mused: “Anyone else misses the Contracts system? It was very fun to activate an Agent’s Contract and work towards the different goals in them. But now, all you have to do is drop Kingdom Credits to unlock the Agent and there is very little incentive to get the gear when there are Agents to unlock and the new accessories shop”.
Puzzleheaded-Bat5983 agreed and they didn’t hold back. This player said: “Making Agent Contracts cost Kingdom Credits was one of the worst additions to the game ever. Probably a scummy move so that people just have to play a lot more and increase their addiction to the game. If the XP-based system was still there I would have already completed all of them, it’s so annoying that they did that”.
Lots of veterans extremely disliked this change. MiaVelvet1 explained: “It feels like Riot is pushing players to spend more time in the game by making the progression more tied to constant play. The old system of working towards specific goals with Contracts felt more rewarding, while now it seems like they’re encouraging players to grind more for Kingdom Credits”.

Not All Valorant Players Wish For the Old System to Return
As always, some players disagreed, and they shared why the new system was superior. They insisted that the return of this old feature would just ruin Valorant. Many players explained how the old system was way worse and the players calling for its return were forgetting about all of its annoying details.
BespokeDebtor noted: “Don’t miss it [the old system] at all, tbh. I remember slogging to tier 5 to play an Agent when they’re released and now I’m able to get them all incredibly quickly when I take breaks from the game. I’ve already gotten 4-ish of the Agent guns with the new system”.
DjinnsPalace added: “Another thing I like is that you don’t just start a Contract and then forget about it. With the new system, you choose who you want to level. Not to mention all the times I forgot to switch Contracts or just didn’t have one active for some reason”.
At this point, there is something nostalgic and alluring about the old system. But, honestly, the new system works just fine, in our opinion. Sure, you’ll have to grind more but there is something rewarding in working hard. Most of the time the Valorant community agrees on current issues. Even when the players disagree, it’s wonderful to see respectful communication.
