Players exploiting a glitch is nothing new in the gaming community. Some games, like Elden Ring, even encourage it. Some parts of the game can be too tough to beat without resorting to exploiting glitches. The recent The First Descendant update added a new Colossus named Gluttony, and it already has a bad rep. However, players found a glitch that can help them defeat it. But, that caused more harm than good for the game, let’s see what that is all about.
Players Leave the Fight if Kyle Is Not on the Team
It all boils down to Kyle having a bugged Ult right now. In short, the Ult will absorb stacks of mental Focus that you have maxed out, resulting in Kyle practically one-shotting every boss on the game, even the latest Colossus – Gluttony. It all sounds good and fun, right?
Well, no. The whole thing backfired in a bad way. What happens is players now refuse to take on bosses, Gluttony especially, if Kyle is not on the team. Players everywhere are furious with people leaving Void Battles as soon as they realize no one is playing Kyle, leaving the rest to fend for themselves. As you’d expect, the community is far from happy.
Community Furious With The Recent Rise Leavers
Naturally, no one likes having leavers in their game, especially if you’re just about to fight a tough boss. Your options are to either leave as a group or to tough it out with an uphill battle, which can be downright impossible with some Colossi.
One Redditor noticed this trend and expressed their dissatisfaction in a post, saying: “Out of 15 ques tonight only 2 parties stayed because there was a Kyle”. User JustChr1s agreed with: “Ppl give up too quickly and quit as soon as they get downed. Of all the looter shooters I’ve played this one is by far the worst when it comes to players looking to get carried. They’d rather instant quit the moment things aren’t perfect and rematchmake to get carried then stick out an instance…”
Players Blame Gluttony
Between all the Kyles and leavers, players also blame the bad design for the current situation. They say Gluttony is almost unbeatable without resorting to glitch-exploitation, due to its insta-kill mechanics. User Lapon3 confirmed, saying: “People wouldn’t be so dependent on such cheese if the boss fight wasn’t so hard. Boss hit too hard most players die 1 to 2 hits and half of them don’t know the mechanic they dps till boss 1 shot wipe the party. So they resort to cheesing the boss.”
Having a difficult battle is great and all, but difficult does not have to mean unfair. But, objectively, both parties here are to blame. Nexon for doing a bad job with Gluttony, and players for refusing to play without Kyle, leaving other players hanging. Hopefully, this will be fixed as soon as possible, so we can all go back to fun and fair gaming.
