The Community Pleaded & Epic Games Could Soon Add More Mobility Items to Fortnite
Fortnite has entered Season 3 of Chapter 4 which brought the usual shakeup in available items and weapons. Since then, a portion of the player base has been clamoring for the return of more mobility items. It’s rumored that Epic Games have heard their pleas and some mobility items may soon become available again.
More Mobility Options Rumored To Return to Fortnite
The first one to deliver this scoop was the Japanese Fortnite news Twitter account FNBRNewsJP. This was followed soon after by Wenso and iFireMonkey, adding fuel to the flames of speculation.
Despite several sources, we have to take these news with a grain of salt. Namely, it seems like a possibility that Grapple Gloves may make a comeback to Fortnite. As Wenso wrote in their tweet:
“Grapple Gloves *might* be returning soon! In [patch] 25.00, the loot pool file was updated, giving NPC’s the ability to sell Grapple Gloves. It is currently disabled, but it could be enabled in a future update.”
If true, these are exciting news if you’re a player who needs more mobility while traversing the jungles of Fortnite Wilds. Many commenters cite that they have tried to swing in the jungle with the glove in the Creative mode and that the experience was exciting and fun.
Splash Version of Slap Juice May Be Coming
But wait, there’s more! According to the same sources, Epic is working on another mobility boost. This comes in the form of a splash version of Slap Juice. According to iFireMonkey’s tweet via FNBRNewsJP, this juice will work like Chug Splashes but instead, give the slap effect.
Continuing the rumor in that same thread, they explain that it’ll be set as “Exotic”, similar to the Chilli Chug Splash. Or, to quote more specifically: “So you’d have some normal Chug Splash, a Chug Splash that gives players a temporary speed boost, and a Slap Splash that gives you unlimited energy temporarily.”
Once again, the players in the comments are stoked about the possible new items. Many call it a “W moment” and some have already taken to calling this consumable “Slap Splashes”, which might as well be the official name.
It’s clear that mobility options are a huge talking point among the fans. If these changes go through, it will do Epic Games a lot of credit that they’ve listened to their players and reacted promptly and accordingly.
