It is not a hard sell if you have any clue about Sony's first party lineup, superior multi-platforms and enjoy the games that are already out.

Funny he talks about a hard sell for PS4 with games you can't get anywhere else, when there is only one true exclusive he mentions for the Xbox One in his list below it..

As of right now the Ps4 has 156 games and the Xbox One has 97 games. I think journalists and some fans don't put that in perspective. Ps4 has 59 more games as of right now. Because they aren't first party exclusives they don't count as exclusives. But they count Titanfall and Sunsetoverdrive as first party, what gives?

I want games that "I want" to play, and that certainly isn't indies. Exclusive line up for the PS4 has been abysmal in terms of my taste. There has only been one game I bought for PS4 this year, and that is Last of Us, and it is a freaken remake of a game released 1.5 year ago and the next game I care about is Bloodborne.

Heck, Nintendo has more exclusives I want to play than on PS4 right now.

I think it is very telling that Between March and late September of this year, you couldn't find a single article like this one. As in, Microsoft didn't have single exclusive game out for the XBOX One for the last 6 months. And now that Halo and SSO are about to come out, and Forza Horizon 2 came out, the media once again wants you to believe that it's been raining games all year long for the Xbox One.

Now watch as January rolls around, these articles are again going to be nowhere to be seen (at least the ones pretending that the Xbox One is outdoing the PS4 in the exclusive department).

A certain camp wants others to believe that the PS4 has no games. Yet every month, the PS4 is selling some 2-3 times the amount of games the Xbox One sells. They also wants you to believe that PS gamers don't buy games, but then again, refer the sale numbers.

I've noticed that trend too cupid.... when there's massive gaps in xbox land the western media are quite coy with their views (just look at the large gap of this gen already prior to forza). I'm used to it anyway... I witnessed the double standards and shillism last gen from so called 'professional' sites so I'm not surprised.

I want more retail exclusive games to choose from for sure but this blatant downgrading of indie games to fluff is ridiculous. LOL....I find it funny when you guys bring up this list of indies to validate that the ps4 has "more games". My cell phone has more games than both of the console put together but you will not see me or anyone else bragging about that or using it as leverage.

Remember when 360 fans wanted to include their indie games to these "lists" when the debate of who had more exclusives last gen was always brought up?

And remember those 360 fans were always shot down and were told those weren't REAL games and only the AAA titles mattered...my, my, my, how times changes when Sony tells you al that indies now matter.

360 has probably 2000+ indie games and I dare anyone to say that because of all those games available that "more choice" is a good thing.

I think the reason indies matter now is because of the success on the 360 and the fact that they are coming in more of an abundance than before. The 360 changed the game when it comes to indies and indie games need to be respected. Before the 360 you could only get them on one platform, PC and occasionally some on cell phones. With this change to the console platform it opened some wide doors to different possibilities and they need to be respected and counted whether they are exclusive or multiplatform. We are going to see a lot more indie gamdown the line so we need to stop pretending they are not there.

Considering it's preference that's your opinion. Users have been angry at 'critics' at big gaming websites for giving alien isolation, the evil within and Destiny mid reviews when a lot of users are loving these games. No games appeal to you on ps4 that's fine, but they do to a lot of people. Exclusives wise I agree but anyone who has been with PlayStation for a long time know the exclusives they want are coming. Let's tally those up. 6 1/2 vs. 4 in favor of PS4. A man knows people hate Halo MCC being counted as one because it's a good value (even though many PS3 remasters had 3 games for $40 or even $30 so it's value is in line with the norm for remasters which is STILL quite good but not extraordinary) so fine let's call it a tie.

Let's not forget PS4 obviously has the indie advantage with many exclusives that "don't count" according to Xbox fans.

The entirety of 2015 is looking good for the PS4. Xbox One's first half of 2015 is looking to be pretty stagnate. Except you're counting multiplatform games as exclusives for XB1. Plus a few of those Xbox One games that are lesser known are almost assuredly 2016.

I already have State of Decay on PC.
Tomb Raider is only a timed exclusive, so it shouldn't be on that list at all. Plus it's probably only a console exclusive so it'll probably launch on XB1 AND PC.

Crackdown is definitely 2016 at the earliest. Maybe even 2017 if they want to use all teh cloudz. Or perhaps late 2016 without cloudz with a cloudz update in 2017.

Gear is late 2016 at the earliest.

When you reconstruct that list after altering for that, the XB1 side is really, really small.

Plus Sony is going to be announcing more pretty soon... some for 2015, but some also for 2016... and you forgot games like Deep Down, and Everybody going to rapture, tomorrow children, etc.

Throw in the better multiplats, and the bigger current game library, lots are going to prefer the PS4.

Is the guy who wrote this article kidding? The PlayStation 4 has nearly twice as many games as the Xbox One. By next summer that ratio will be nearly 4 PS4 games for every 1 Xbox One game. The games that Microsoft saved for the Fall/Winter holiday season are pretty good for those who enjoy those types of games. And if Halo and Sunset Over Drive float your boat, more power to you.

Ps4 has so many interesting games. Im excited. Ive been unlocking tier 2 is war thunder ground forces after completing dark souls 2. In between I wrapped up infamous, enjoying alien, playing my boys in nba2k, ufc, injustice and destiny. Its been a fantastic year so far. it's hard to judge only on holiday season, because alot of the best holiday games are delayed. If you want to calculate the games in holiday season you have to start from sept. till feb or march. first months of 2015 are as crowded as the last months of 2014.

AAA exclusives till december 2014;
xbox; ryze, dead rising 3, forza 5, titanfall(not realy exclusive), forza horizon, sunset overdrive, halo; masterchief collection

playstation; killzone: shadowfall, knack, driveclub, Littlebigplanet3, infamous: second son, last of us; remasterd

xbox got 1 more exclusive, that's true but now the exclusives till march;
xbox;none, (fable legends)
ps4; the order1886, bloodborne

the amount of exclusives are about the same.
the difference in the consoles lies in the services; playstation plus or xbox live gold. up till now ps plus gives me better games. but don't know what the future will hold for me.
Just buy the system you like. There is no better one

Im sorry but These closed universe articles are retarted. Why are we looking at a short period of time? Why not look at the bigger picture? Sony has WAY more games now, and more games coming, i mean if you are a first time buyer of a console, that means you can select from all games released not just what is being released in the holiday season. A person would be wise to look also to the future coming games (past just the holiday season).

Besides its not like you wont have a ton to play during the holiday season anyway. Sony tends to release its big hitters away from the months 3rd party releases to protect the interests of 3rd partys, especiallly considering the high quality of Sony's first party games. This keeps the 3rd parties happy. MS tends to be less restricted (and have less control)in that they buy 3rd party games to become exclusive. The publisher will push to be released in the months people buy more games (AKA holidays).

It isn't just "the most" games that make a console popular, it's the most AAA games that gets the console it's praise from the avergae consumer.

So, yeah the Xbox has the best lineup imo, The only PS4 game i want is LittleBigPlanet 3 (maybe Rhime) and that's all. I don't care about resolution, i only have Live, not PS+ so MP games have to be on my Xbox One. I hope my PS4 doesn't gather dust, i hope LCP3 is enough to keep it turned on.

My conclusion, Im jealous of WII U owners, they win the holiday with SSB.

Bayonetta 2 just came out today so for the rest of the year as of now all I see is sunset overdrive, LBP3, Guilty gear xerd and smash 4. It doesn't look that impressive. Then there are multiplats like far cry 4, assassins creed unity, dragon age inquisition, and I'm more excited for the multiplats than the exclusives

2014 in general was a very disappointing year for games.

These guys have all three systems to mess with...if you find yourself playing more then the other, then you should be able to come to a conclusion. So far all the hype and graphics has driven all the sales momentum to SONY. But if we look at the facts But was plaguing Sony has been the lack of updates, network stability issues, over hyped games that are best at mediocre. On the Microsoft sides they haven't had any major network issues, Has been listening to their customers and adding more features to the OS has had a better portfolio on games. Impressions have been very positive ever since Phil Spencer has taken the wheel, we now see him as a gaming rock star and he really knows what the hell he is doing. So I am sure he is putting together new IP besides the one that made the Xbox 360 great.

Xbox one wins this article because people don't buy consoles for indies(please don't bother telling us you do) they buy them for the big AAA titles. That's why console bundles are sold with AAA titles and not indies. This holiday ps4 got beat in terms of games and that's ok. I'll still be picking up my ps4 next year when it gets some titles that are good. For now it looks like I'm off to grab a wii u for SUPER SMASH BROS!

People still seem to be having trouble understanding the fact Microsoft abandoned 360 early last gen to focus on game development for xbone, that's why there was nothing to play on 360 while PS3 was still getting games like The Last of Us. Clearly Microsoft would have the lead on getting software out ahead of Sony due to this fact but that doesn't mean anything, once the real PS4 major exclusives start to hit it will solidify Sony's dominance this gen. Microsoft can have holiday 2014 for games, 2015 will be owned by Sony and that's an irrefutable fact.

Agree, Xbox does have a better outlook for new exclusive games launching this holiday season only. I don't think anyone is going to be buying a console this Christmas though based off of that alone. At best you are going to get the 360 hardcore fans off the bench and into next gen with MCC. The rest are going to go the way things have been going at this point....PS4. The existing game library, features, community, price, and future exclusives are all combined likely to keep the sales about where they are for both consoles. I don't see a lead change either way.

WiiU on the other hand has some opportunity to build additional momentum with hardcore fans and those that own more than 1 console.

The Order and Bloodborne are really awful looking linear story driven games with cut scenes that go on and on and on. Sony just cant do arcade games like they used too. A ton of Last of Us clones. Yawn
