Great devs, better than most of the current devs, they know what games are supposed to be about.

More game than cutscene crap, but most people are sick of that stuff anyway so they'll shine through. I think most people know that devs who rely on cutscenes aren't worth watching nowadays.

@1nsomniac

You're going on about Destiny again. I think you have a fixation on Destiny.

1nsomniac3473d ago

Cutscenes drive story, story is extremely important. Look at Destiny, A lot of people complained for that exact reason that there wasn't enough cutscenes therefore wasn't any real progression of story.

I think I understand what you mean about games loosing there fun but it has nothing to do with cutscenes..

GameSpawn3473d ago

I don't have a problem with cut-scenes in Destiny...I have a problem with not being able to skip cut-scenes in Destiny.

Seriously, after replying the second Story mission on Heroic for a bounty numerous times I'm sick and tired of being forced to rewatch one of the longest cut-scenes in the game.

They need to allow us to skip cut-scenes at least once they have already been watched.

1nsomniac3472d ago

Completely agree with you there. There's no excuss to not allow you to skip cutscenes if they're not being used to load a level in the background.

Wolfenstein 3D was Id Software not 3D Realms.

BitbyDeath3473d ago

Probably meant to say Duke Nukem 3D

pop-voxuli3473d ago

Probably. Tho, 3D Realms did distribute Wolfenstein 3D, but they certainly not the developers.

Ahhh, zombie!!! Kill it, kill it!!!

Talgrath3473d ago

Let's be honest, this isn't actually 3D Realms, someone bought the logo and rights to some of their games and is creating a new studio by the same name. The 3D Realms we knew and loved died a long time ago, this is just someone wearing its skin.

Shadow Warrior reboot that came last year is actually pretty damm decent and it was published by 3D Realms so there´s that.

3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks Suffer a Second Round of Layoffs at Embracer's Hands

3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks have suffered from a second round of layoffs following one that hit both companies in the middle of December.

jznrpg114d ago

The only news coming from Embracer is canceled games, closed studios and layoffs. That’s what happen when you accumulate to many studios at once. There’s another company that will be doing the same thing here over the next handful of years especially if daddy’s money doesn’t bail them out.

porkChop113d ago

They're not crumbling specifically because they acquired so many studios. It's because they built everything up based on a $2B investment and didn't have any plan in place to pivot if the deal fell through, which it did. They were reckless and stupid.

Bastards, i really fear for our industry.

Embracer Hits 3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks With Layoffs

More layoffs at Embracer Group, as the publisher as reportedly fired half of 3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks.

BeHunted133d ago

Why? They're a business trying to maximise their profits.

Chard132d ago

^ didn't realise CEO's posted on here

SimpleSlave133d ago (Edited 133d ago )

Hope that the ones fire are the Decision makers in Slipgate Ironworks and those responsible for greenlighting those decisions over at 3D Realms. Cuz they are mediocre at what they do...

Lol!! What am I even saying? Their just gonna fire all the people actually working hard on the games instead. Oopsie! My bad.

Monopoly and Consolidation of the game industry is Nooice!!!

Jingsing132d ago

They embraced everyone and produced nothing.

BABI-PANGPANG132d ago

Me and most of my concept art buddies got laid off as well a few days back –different daughter company though. Such a wonderful start of this magical month 🤣

More games for their Early Access Limbo? Nooice!

SimpleSlave252d ago

You know it. Gotta keep that Train a Rollin' bay bay! Choo! Choo!

mastershredder252d ago

Yeah looks 3D realms alright, just a tad up from Running with scissors. Fitting as a $20.00 budget tile (current gen), or a $60.00 switch release.

lio_convoy251d ago

I guess we should see these games in about another 20 years after another development company picks up the pieces and finishes them.
