With a company as big as Ubisoft you would think they'd have a better control over their social media accounts. It makes them look very unprofessional.

Metallox3544d ago

But it was an employee, they don't speak for the company and they have the right to think whatever they want.

1nsomniac3544d ago (Edited 3544d ago )

They posted it from the '@Ubisoft' account so no, they don't have a right to say whatever they want. That's just common sense!

TekoIie3544d ago (Edited 3544d ago )

"But it was an employee, they don't speak for the company and they have the right to think whatever they want."

No one's denying employee's their right to free speech.

But when you're representing a company (even on twitter) you certainly don't get to spout whatever you want assuming you want to keep your job.

Metallox3544d ago

Nevermind, I thought the guy said it in an independent account, "not from Ubisoft".

Chrischi19883544d ago

The other problem here is, that they make such statements, a few days after announcing they think every Wii U owner is some stupid child who only plays Just Dance. Hmm... maybe it is because the Just Dance games are not gimped and get full support by Ubi, just a thought^^

guitarded773543d ago

Yeah, that was from the Ubi account. People in social media/PR know better. Doesn't make it less true, but they know better.

Madock3543d ago

The problem is that they were right,
A front row of mercedes cars in mario kart is a horrible idea, esp when the charm of mario kart is that i'm using a bowser ship with a roller blade or a sponge wheel!

Chrischi19883543d ago

And now you are driving a Mercedes with somebody sitting on top of it. It is not like the thing looks like driving a Mercedes in Need for Speed. It is a mini version witg somebody on top... uhhh, all the magic is gone^^

Some might say, why make a big deal out of everything somebody says about Ninty, the thing is, everybody makes a big deal for every shit Ninty does, doesnt matter how unimportant. What a fool somebody must be to act like "what, this game has a mercedes dlc kart? All magic is gone, I will never play that game again!"

^^

What some people don't get is that companies are not one person's opinion, and all communications sent out must be reviewed to align them with company policy, mission and vision.

This one guy writing this is a narcissist if he thinks his personal opinion is so important that a company should back it. There's no room for personal opinions from company communications.

What I don't get is why Nintendo would even do this with Mercedes... does anyone here know their target markets are complete opposites? Mercedes target market is really old people, that makes up the vast majority of Merc owners when they review their company data. Nintendo's market is mostly young people, certainly no one who is in the market for an expensive brand new Mercedes. This is a completely retarded move by both companies.

They hire someone to control the account.. So it wasn't Ubisoft, it was that person.

SpiralTear3543d ago

Ubisoft's PR overall has been a giant mess for a while now.

Either way it's funny a company that has lost its magic is telling another company not to lose its magic. I guess you know best when you have experienced it. Either way nintendo does not need the mercedes money. Just greed.

thehobbyist3544d ago

"Nintendo does not need the Mercedes money"
Read about Nintendo's finances from the last six months and be amazed at how wrong you are.

OldDude3543d ago

Read their financial statements even closer and you will see they have billions in cash in the bank. Nintendo isn't hurting for money.

DiscoKid3544d ago

Nitnendo lol

I'm sure the Big N can't hear them over the Smash hype.

Muzikguy3544d ago

Ubisoft knows people are watching them carefully. I don't agree that we should have to worry about who will get offended over the tiniest little things, but I also don't think they have any room to talk about losing the magic. Not to mention the DLC is free. Someone needs to go to Ubisoft and talk to them about sellouts and milking games to death. Then say "don't lose the magic" at the end. Not that they had the magic to begin with IMO. Where the hell is the next Rainbow 6 game?!

dafegamer3544d ago

Are people really making a big deal of it now?
Honestly I was expecting sometime worse.

ABizzel13544d ago

I completely agree, this is utterly childish to nag about. An Ubisoft employee enjoys Mario Kart in it's pure kart form instead of driving around in a Benz. Who the #$& cares, there's nothing negative about this at all, besides the fanboys and trolls making something out of nothing.

dafegamer3544d ago

Yeah same here. To be honest I have nothing against Nintendo putting a Benz in Mario Kart, but
people seem to hunt a person for his personal opinion. I mean is there anything wrong when a fan doesnt like the idea of putting realistic cars in "Mario Kart"?

lilbroRx3543d ago (Edited 3543d ago )

@dafegamer, I've seriously never seen Nintendo fans "hunt" anyone.

That's generally something reserved for Sony fans. Speaking of which, I'll bet money that you'll never repeat that statement for someone saying something bad about Sony or the PS4.

Its like only the opinions that are to Sony fan's liking should be protected from scrutiny around here.

You are free to have an opinion. But others are just as free to have an opinion of your opinion.

Ubisoft's Recent Antics Have Me Fearful For The Sands of Time Remake

Hanzala from eXputer: "With Ubisoft's practices becoming increasingly anti-consumer lately, the destruction of The Sands of Time Remake looks almost inevitable."

Hey Ubi, here's a gun, don't shoot yourself in the foot.

At this point, only dummies have any hope left for Ubi-junk games.

Every industry has these issues

Some companies I’ve worked for were great and some were toxic as hell (UPS when I was a teenager was extremely toxic and I have heard it still is) It all starts at the top. They either hold people accountable , set standards and treat people with respect or the crap rolls downhill.
