Xbox One S Officially Revealed, It’ll Cost $299 for 4K Video, 2TB Hard Drive and Smaller Form Factor

As leaked yesterday, the new and slimmed down version of the Xbox One, simply named “S,” has been revealed by Microsoft during its press conference at E3.

Rather have Scorpio, PC, and Nintendo. Not much incentive for a PS4. Don't care for their games and I can cross play on PC/Xbox. Having two gaming rigs that play the games I want to play, one with no maintenance, while still having PC exclusives with m/kb and Oculus is all that I need. All my accessories work with each device. Saves carry over. Seems like the perfect eco-system.

For some reason people think having a gaming PC means it's sitting in the living room next to the couch and big screen. Typically it sits in an office or bedroom. Lugging it around is a chore. Unless you have two gaming rigs it isn't convenient at all.

Why would someone buy an Android phone and an Android tablet, or an Android TV? There's nothing wrong with accessing your apps, data, and media across the same platform. It's much easier to jump in and out and find what you are looking for.

Why do you need two of the same console especially if you already have one. Agree fully with guy below why not go for ps4 or even spend the money elsewhere if you really don't like Sony but 2 consoles that'll do more or less the same thing just grab the Scorpio and save the rest.

Apparently the base model doesn't include a controller and it's around 500GB.

And 4K video only works through streaming.

I could be wrong but that's what I've read so far.

Microsoft honestly killed it with announcing every xbox game being able to be bought on pc in their cross buy program .....looks like the finally wanted to do better than Sony.

And honestly the only way for Sony to have a better conference for me is to announce their games for PC but I already have ps4 but it would just be nice to have them on PC maybe Microsoft will force them to do this lol

Yeah that's what I was thinking probably $349 for the 2TB. I'm just stoked you can finally make it vertical. Running on limited space in/around my entertainment setup/area so the capability to stand up the console vertical is crucial!

Definitely will be getting this in the fall to go next to my PS4 and PS3.

If the scorpio ends up being $600, it will sell really well and be better than trying to build a VR PC for the same price. 4K 60fps is not doable with less than a $900+ computer unless you got a lot of rebates.

I fall into that category so if I was very interested in a Xbox exclusive, I would buy a Xbox console.

so basically......the Xbox One S won't sell at all.....and everyone is gonna wait for Scorpio? Although I guess the One S probably wasn't that much of an investment....just manufacturing changes that probably needed to happen anyway.

Like the announcements....but still......seems strange that they're gonna make Scorpio super powerful....but handicap devs by parity with all the other models. I guess it'll just work like PCs......the Scorpio will be able to play all the games on "ultra" settings. Stinks they won't be able to develop Scorpio exclusives though with all that extra power.

Can this play 4K Bluray or only stream vids in 4K? That's a huge difference. If this Xbox S can play 4K Bluray then that's a freaking value considering the fact that Samsung 4K player set top box costs $500-$400 alone. Along with the improved performance this feature could make the Xbox S the best value console in 2016.
