Most sought after? I would think the Touch of Malice is definitely a better overall weapon and more desired. Of course I won't know until I get my hands on this gun. Will start the quest for it tonight after work.

BigBosss3133d ago

Did everything, now to complete the 3 events and the archive.

emad-E-three3133d ago

Touch of Malice is a straight forward and easy quest everyone can get and do and most importantly it got nothing on Gjallarhorn while the Sleeper is a mystery no one knows a real thing about it and most importantly Gameinformer said could even be better then the Horn power wise!

Neonridr3133d ago

I wouldn't exactly call it easy. Getting some of those fragments were a pain. Not to mention farming 50 hadium flakes is a little tedious.

As for Gjallarhorn, that gun is irrelevant now. Give me a titan bubble and I will take my infinite ammo and double damage any day.

That being said I am excited to learn more about the Sleeper Simulant and am eager to get my hands on it.

I do like how they are putting more lore and story into these weapons. Regardless if you enjoy the Touch of Malice or not, it was a long but rewarding quest chain. Here's hoping it goes the same for the Sleeper.

ArcticWolfUK3133d ago

Touch of malice is terrible for anything but last 2 parts of the raid.

Neonridr3133d ago

perhaps, but it owns during those last two parts of the raid. Hell, even if you are doing strikes or PvE and you have a titan with you, have him drop a blessing of light bubble and bust it out.

lemongrasspotatohead3133d ago (Edited 3133d ago )

Agreed, I've got an ascended Hung Jury with Firefly and Triple Tap at 310, the raid scout, and the Zhalo for pretty much every other situation.

That said, I just got the pulse rifle with Firefly too and it's beginning to win me over.

GuruStarr783132d ago

@lemongrass:

I did the exact same, but I've also got 310 Black Spindle and 310 Telesto.. so I'm pretty set... Don't even really need the Touch of Malice now.. but I'll still probably get it some day when I get bored and feel like farming 30 more calcified fragments..

lemongrasspotatohead3133d ago

Touch of Malice is highly situational, I pretty much only use it now at Daughters of Oryx and Oryx. It also hasn't created anywhere near the same amount of interest in the game, many raiders are quite blasé about the scout rifle, whereas everyone is hoping that the Simulant gives us a decent exotic heavy.

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3133d ago

Better is a bit of an odd statement given that no one has used sleeper yet. But yes touch of malice is freaking awesome!

Neonridr3133d ago

yeah I will concede that my statement was a little rushed. We have no clue what this sleeper simulant will be like. But if it's better than the Touch of Malice, then dear god I want it.

Should I be eating my words?????!

maybelovehate3133d ago

Oh damn! Might have to take the day off.

"How do you feel about Bungie gating weapons in this way? Isn’t it a little anticlimactic to know that we were just waiting for someone to flip a switch?"

Does everyone get the mission or just the players who triggered the memories? If it is everyone and that secret didn't matter then it isn't nearly as cool.

But if finding the memories in Paradox triggered it, that is awesome!

Neonridr3133d ago

it has nothing to do with the memories triggered in yesterdays Heroic mission. It has to do with the 4 fusion rifle relics that you find as random drops from enemies. If you have found 4, the mission will be available for you.

I am guessing those memories will lead us to something else later on. Maybe a Future War Cult exclusive weapon or something since the ghost seemed to be tied to them.

maybelovehate3133d ago

Very true. Some people are saying the memories will lead to the exotic Pulse Rifle.

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter342d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood342d ago (Edited 342d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro342d ago (Edited 342d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881342d ago (Edited 342d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell341d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig342d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast342d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername342d ago (Edited 342d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g342d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka342d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai493d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface492d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard489d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
