Mafia 3 Worldwide Reveal Set For August 5

SegmentNext - Mafia Game official Facebook Page accidentally leaked the teaser for the Worldwide reveal of Mafia 3. Yes, if that post is to be believed, we will get to see Mafia 3 on August 5.

I hope they take everything they learned from mafia 2 and make mafia 3 the best game in the series. I loved the story in mafia 2 but the open world felt rally empty

I also hope that it isn't exclusive to any console please, I am kind of worried since this is being revealed at gamescom that Microsoft may have something to announce on stage.

I also hope this is coming sooner rather than later

I know this is 2k and not R* but they are both under take two as a publisher. I hope we find out what some of the other R* teams are working on

I actually was a bit disappointed by Mafia 2. part 1 was groundbreaking, better than GTA at that time and part 2 just didn't deliver on my expectations.

I dunno. Ok I guess, Mafia 2 was a B rank game at best. An open world with nothing to do in it.

It'll be nice to continue the story I guess, seeing as it ended with a lame cliffhanger that felt rushed.

The game ended with a great emphasize that Vito will get big, but for Joey, most likely the silence at the end when Vito was in the limo meant that Joey died.

For Mafia 3, the hints says that it would take nearly 30-20-10 years after Mafia 2. Vito could be mentioned in the third game but just like Tommy was mentioned in Mafia 2 when Vito and Joey killed him in middle part of the game.

Doubtful, I don't think MS has the leverage to ask a company to not make a game on a 24 million install base. Many of their timed deals where early in the gen prior to knowing PS4 would be selling the way it is.

Nearly all the DLC was in the game to behind with.
It was locked behind paywalls.

So you pay for the game install it, then have all this content already installed on your computer that you can not get access to because you must pay more.

THAT is a disgusting practice.

If it was already made, and included in the files you bought, then it should not cost extra to unlock...

Sooooo have less content over all? Why don't you just not buy the DLC and call it a day.

Mind you, the assets to create that DLC will always be part of the game, the DLC is actually smaller in size due to that its not making a new engine, or adding more assets etc, its merely adding script that actually makes that DLC.

ie why you can see certain Witcher 3 DLC on the Witcher 3 code, that doesn't mean its in the game, the actual DLC still needs to be made, that is merely a place holder and its also based on the assets of the game already exist, its why you can get DLC that is 200mb or even less that is hours long of content because they again are not creating a new engine or making new assets, thus.....you don't have the actual DLC, your not actually being taken advantage of as I'm pretty sure many gamers would have been able to crack the DLC content with work arounds....they can't because its not really there.

You again on PC can't just extract the DLC and use it as its a place holder.

ie that is like saying the Witcher III dlc that was found on the PC code is playable....its not, as the PC crowd can get most things off of a game easy, they would have been able to take that content day 1 and start using it.

Its not what you think it is.... Having assets on disk doesn't mean its CONTENT on disk, the assets will be used over and over and over again, DLC isn't just some new or different game, its still using the same engine and same assets, the DLC is technically the script they are working on and the script then takes those assets currently on your game and makes it into the actual content, its sorta how mods work, when you download lets say a Skrim mod, your downloading the thing that allows the game to make the item, ie your downloading the blueprint and the game is making the item in the engine.

Thus...you can download many mods that are merely kb or mb, that turn into gigs when they are installed as they are now taking the engine, assets etc into effect.

Many, many gamers have had some confusion on exactly what the where looking at, if you used mods on PC before, you understand the actual process that is taking place.

Lol Its like I am the only gamer that actually remembers games. I got mafia 2 for like five bucks years ago and barely felt like I got my money's worth. Lots and lots of driving, piss poor and almost nonexistent customization . Insanely boring gameplay moments that should of been cut scenes(lifting boxes-moving stuff). Cutscenes that should of been gameplay a hefty number of shootouts and hits. Add in a small and empty open world sandbox with so little to do it makes Second Son look like Skyrim.
