The Next "Need for Speed" Game Will Be Unveiled on May 21st

Electronic Arts has just revealed – via the game’s official FB page – that the next part in its legendary racing series will be revealed on May 21st

Been a long time since a good need for Speed was made I've lost faith in the series so it will take something special for me to even entertain investing £40 plus on a new game.

last "GOOD" nfs i've played was back in 2002 Blackbox studio's "Hotpursuit 2" and 2003's Underground, Underground 2 ..2004 MostWanted. rest was pure crap up to now.
criterion's hotpursuit was a disaster , mostwanted was unbelievable crapfest, criterion/ghost games "Rivals" really ?? what was that a nightmare??/ open world games dont fit every genre, yes we love to play with everyone online but NFS is not meant for online racing especially if alldrive an autolog is used. i rather see EA take it offline 2 player mode than to continue FKing it up with burnout drifting engine. and noooooooo fake gameplay "helicopter chase" fooling gamers it's awesome at E3 again, show more game footage .
a revival of Blackbox studio Hotpursuit 2 or Underground add cops,nitro, instant replay call it Underground 3 ...........we want a FKing Real NFS noooooooot what investors tell you to make but what gamers want you to make .

even if they call it underground 3... or make it the same style... it means nothing if they gameplay isnt comparable... and without that nice twitchy, arcade, kinda brake, kinda let off the gas dodge traffic and cut corners gameplay it will just be another stale drifting around corners burnout ripoff with a need for speed badge slapped on it ... nfs and final fantasy are like the 2 biggest games from my early gaming years, and now i dont buy or look forward to either but am just waiting for something good to peek my interest or deserve my money... i keep waiting... they keep not delivering we'll see if this is any different but ive known better then to hold my breathe at this point honestly

Everyone and their mother has asked for Underground 3, so in typical EA fashion, we'll get a reboot of Hot pursuit or Carbon.

I'm a huge fan of Burnout as well (Burnout 3 was fantastic), but Need for Speed Hot Pursuit was basically a Burnout game, also mostly made by the same developers as Burnout 3 ... while Burnout Paradise was underwhelming.

Exactly! I just as many would love an Underground 3 and hell even KOTOR3 but the truth is the developers would fall short. On top of that is what you said, so overall it would be horrible. Perfect example - look at whats going on with the new Battlefront... which is something else many gamers wanted.

A new PS2 styled Hot Pursuit2 that plays like the old game. No special perks for street racers just pro driving skills and lots of short cuts. Please not that trash that came out a few years ago that i couldnt bring myself to even finish.

If not Hot Pursuit2, then Underground3 with all the modification options. Rims, vinyls, tints. different types of paints the whole nine yards. I would perfer an closed track layout like Underground1 and not open world like Underground2.
