During its marathon livestream Atlus finally showcased a new trailer of the PlayStation Exclusive JRPG Persona 5.

It actually seems more like they are a team of thieves. It looked like he was running from cops or detectives. But I guess they could have been after them for being vigilantes. Either way, my kids and I are gonna love this.

I technically haven't played any of them either. I've only been able to watch everything: from LPs of P4G, P4AU, P3FES and P3P (female MC) to the first P3 movie and both P4 anime series.

I just started playing P3FES via emulator (no longer have my ps3 to buy it off PSN) and I'm working on getting a Vita for P4G (will take some time though). I'll get Ultimax on my 360 when I get through more of my backlog.

still not to late...the best it play according to release order..persona3fes..then 4..its kind of killjoy for some people if you play 4 first then 3 because 4 has lot if improvement gameplay than 3,and somepeople might feel drawback if they play 3 after that....persona3portable female mc are for veteren player who want to experience different angle ..but the best experience is play the ps2 version first..since lot of presentation and important aspect being cut-off..same goes with the movies..the movie are great,but still unable to cover the exact experience as in game,seriously you gonna enjoy moment in game before...not mention the movie/anime version often being skipped somepart,being changed and modified than original...like for what i remember,the p3 mc dont really ignorant like in the first movie...play it...still one of the best jrpg/rpg ever make until today

The Persona series has been getting really popular as of late, it seems. I only vaguely knew about this series 5 months ago.

Now I've seen everything the series has to offer so far across most media formats (except P1 and P2, but Persona as most people seem to know it started with P3).

Watch it again and pause. As someone else mentioned before it's the main character in Vincents prison clothes. Notice the youthful face and lack of facial hair (Vincent has a goatee). Also Vincent has blue eyes whereas the character here has grey eyes.

Particularly if you look at 1:50 there is the female doctor, it says Takemi medical clinic and it's definitely a woman based on the outline.

Also noticed at 1:56 Munihisa Iwai Untouchable Military Shop.

Also at the beginning of the trailer there are FOUR characters not just the THREE we see. Notice it's when the character designers name is on the building there is a female wearing a fox mask and there is a tail when she hops off the building.

The order is this 1- main character hops onto train track, 2- blond hair girl twirls by, 3- fox masked girl sitting hops off building then 4- blond hair guy jumps onto the side of the train.

Well, there were 5 chairs in the original reveal trailer, and if we could the Kabuki Mask wearing man as one of the characters, we're already at 5. (He shows up in the beginning of the trailer)

There's a theory that Morgana will pull a teddie and grow a body, but we don't know.

I think we will see nine playable characters. At 1.33 in trailer you can see nine words in Latin : Acedia, Cavum, Avaritia, Gula, Ira, Invidia, Irritum, Luxuria and Superbia.

Seven of them is Latin names for Seven Deadly Sins and another two means hollow and void. After that at 1.34 we see nine screens with all sins and word persona beneath them. So I think each character will get persona that will fit to their sin. (Sorry for bad english)

Last gen they not only had year over year success, they bought Relic, Creative Assembly AND Atlus...

I'm sorry but with 10 Yakuza games and year over year great track record, Sega is not the same Sega your remember from the PS2 era.

Sega last gen cleaned house and is a more sound company now then ever before.

Even compared to a company like Capcom, that wasted money last gen, lost lots of sales last gen, this gen needs 2 publishers to fund projects for them and last year made a statement about being open to a buy out.

I'm sorry but facts determine the quality of such company's and right now, Sega is one of the best company's in Japan...

Mind you, that reconstruction is a great thing for them as they are cutting waste.

Understand that the only reason why Sega is still making games and hell even BUYING TEAMS is because they are making much more smarter business moves then before.

You ever ask yourself why so many Yakuza and Sonic, Total War games etc are still getting made? Well...maybe Sega is still making lots of money thats why.

They are not risking costly ports, they have Ace IPs, Sonic, Yakuza, Alien series, Total War, Company Of Heros, Bayonetta, Persona etc and they are very effectively releasing certain games that they know will do well vs just because fans "want it".

If you bought Bayonetta 2, Alien Isolation, you gave Sega money.

I just can't say the same for Square or Capcom where they've been in finical trouble for some time (ie games that take 9 years to release, the FFXIII mess, Capcom's endless mess ups lol)

I think you should really, really look at Sega before just thinking such things.

looks amazing. my only concern is the main characters persona. he looks like a cross between the joker and sly cooper: deviant. but maybe hell actually talk more in this. loving the realistic tone of the environments and how the characters carry themselves. the dashing through the hallway looks... interesting. i already have a good idea at the direction they are heading with this and i hope the story turns out as good as 3&4. so far so good!

The team seems to be wanna be superheroes this time (quite cool if you ask me!), and there's a certain "Phantom of the Opera" thing going on. Can't wait to see how it all gels together! :D

Eh, I think I'll wait for the Golden version if there is one or get it on sale, I played P4: Golden and went back and compared it to the original P4 and it appeared leaps and bounds ahead with many annoying things smoothed over and extra content added. If they don't come out with one in a year then I guess I'll be picking it up then. Looked somewhat interesting but I was taken straight back to the character/setting tropes of the last one (I know it's an iterative series but I'd need to see more than just this trailer I think).

ofcourse there was big gap...that was originally ps2/psv title and p5 was ps3 title...the p4g still was based on ps2 version...and still tons of limited things psvita could do..and p5 was build on more superior hardware,likely ps3 which is the devs able to make leapt in various gameplay aspect as past hardware unable off....most of game experience this as one of advantages of generation shift...

Wow what a truly stunning trailer. Persona art is some of my favorite in the video game world. I really love the 70's influence they are going for in the art style this time around. I absolutely cannot wait for this.

I think it may be this games version of "Social Links".

The look of the visuals is cool, Persona had always had a unique visual style. This also looks like an upgraded version of the Catherine engine cause some of the places like the bar scene is very similar to those in Catherine.

Great music, great style, great concept.

I'm intrigued by the stealth/vigilante aspect. Of course, the team in a given Persona game has always operated independently of the police. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to come up with a concept where they have to operate outside of the law entirely, or where their activities are deemed illegal to the uninitiated.

I like that they appear to be operating at night. As much as I love Persona 4, having exploration set during the day is a real time hog since the protagonist is too tired to even read a book afterwards. Having it at night was a lot more convenient, and there was a certain charm to operating at night. I can't say this trailer has changed my mind about Persona 5, but that's probably because I was never expecting anything short of perfection. The only Persona games I dislike are the ones that are the precursors to Persona 3. They haven't aged well at all, but I suppose they deserve props for at least kicking off the series.
