Just started playing it a little while ago, I really like it so far. Definitely getting this one when it comes out.

I really like it but I HATE the controls. They feel so unnatural and there is not way to change them. Why is X the menu and O jump? It should be either X or Triangle is jump, then X be attack and have R1 be build. The menu should be options or the touchpad. The story is interesting and it's a way better Minecraft than Minecraft. I really want to get this but I don't know if I can handle the controls, the 30 minutes or so I got in before work I was getting really frustrated. Also it comes out the same day as Gears of War so I may have to choose one for the other.

OB1Biker2766d ago

Well remember you can still change your controller settup on the fly

Summons752766d ago

@OB1Biker

True but then that screws up your controller for every other game. I'm not going into a game, quitting, setting up the controller, then have to do it all over again for a different game. The developers should patch in proper controls or give an option to change their awful backwards control.

OB1Biker2766d ago

Fair enough. I just thought maybe you forgot that option.

raWfodog2766d ago (Edited 2766d ago )

Its just the demo so maybe they'll have the option to change the button setup in the retail version.

Dragon Ball meets Minecraft!

NapalmSanctuary2766d ago

You mean Dragon Quest meets minecraft.

S2Killinit2766d ago

No he means DBZ because its the same art style, I believe the game design is by the person who created DBZ.

NapalmSanctuary2766d ago

@S2Killinit
Its semi-common knowledge that DB and DQ have the same character artist. My point is that the actual concept of this game is Dragon Quest meets Minecraft. The only similarity between this and DB is the character art, hardly a DB meets MC game.

This is an amazing game and just beat the demo on ps4 I feel that for sure it would be better on ps vita but mines broken :(

S2Killinit2766d ago

Well, I think its just a great game, its good on either platform. I'm getting the PS4 version since I don't have Vita, but this game has been one of my most anticipated since they announced it.

Thatguy-3102767d ago

Wanted to play for a bit but before I knew it 2 hrs flew by. This game has a ton of potential. Can't wait for the full release next month. The fact they have a demo out really shows how confident they are in the title. Give it a try it people.

fenome2767d ago

Did you find the dragon? I'm stocking up on healing cream and going to try to kill it. I only take off 1 point per hit, but I got him down about a quarter of the way last time. I only had 10 on me last time so I'm just going to make a whole bunch and try to whittle him down.

Thatguy-3102766d ago

Don't have the patience to do it. Lol I tried doing it with the Japan demo but just didn't feel like investing too much time on him.

S2Killinit2766d ago

I can't help but adore the art style. Its so DBZ. Really liking it.

fenome2764d ago

I killed the dragon. I got a "comfy couch". Lol. It was ugly as hell, but I still made a room around it and sat on it. I think there's going to be some cool upgrades on base building when this game comes out.

Feels strange to release now after Dragon Quest Builders 2 has been available for so many years. It was good for its time, but DQ Builders 2 improved on it in so many ways. I'd have a harder time going back to the first one now.

TGG_overlord87d ago

You are correct...So I don't know the thought proecess behind this move...Besides an easy money grab.

OtterX87d ago

I do hope they make a 3rd in the series, so I'll support this easy money grab. I really enjoyed DQ Builders 2 especially. :)

I'd like to see them bring in more advanced building concepts, like Minecraft's redstone machines. I much prefer playing w non-blocky characters, w this Dragon Quest feel.

ZeekQuattro86d ago

Odd choice. The sequel is better and more realized in every way.

Wait, no new PS1, PS2 or PSP additions?

CrimsonWing69562d ago

It’s frustrating how they barely update that library. I get that Jimbo hates old games, but c’mon, the classic catalogue with trophies was a big draw for me. Was really hoping to get some heavy duty classic PS1 games to platinum. Looks like they’ll do exactly what they did on PS4 with the PS2 library…

LucasRuinedChildhood562d ago (Edited 562d ago )

Games like Resistance: Retribution have already been rated as well so they have some stuff ready.

I think they still don't have a healthy supply of classic games for the next few months and they have to really spread them out ... so because of all those Yakuza remasters on Premium this month ... they made the decision to hold off putting up more PSP or PS1 games until next month. :(

They need clearer communication on this. They could have said that we can look forward to some PSP games next month or something.

FinalFantasyFanatic561d ago

I'm so glad I stuck with the essential tier, I'd be ticked paying more with the expectation that the classic catalogue would be regularly updated and built up. The classic catalogue was the biggest draw of the upper tiers for me, so not seeing any new PS1 games is pretty disappointing.

Ben Dover562d ago

While the VC remake is a turd, this is an impressive month.

SlothLordPootus562d ago

Has vice city been fixed? If not it feels like a weird addition. Lots for Dragon Quests fans.

jeromeface562d ago

fixed? Its kinda hard to fix something that was a mobile port to begin with... so no

cluclap562d ago

It wasn't a mobile port though? The team that made them did the mobile games but if I remember the actual remakes aren't the mobile versions.

andy85562d ago

Playing it at the moment. It actually looks pretty clean. I'm on PS5 though, can't comment for other versions. I guess the updates helped a bit

VersusDMC562d ago

If you like assassins creed and Dragon Quest enjoy the multiple games.

Just plan on playing Medium and the Yakuza remasters right now.

EvertonFC562d ago

"inside" indie game looks interesting for sure too

SlothLordPootus562d ago

Inside is great. If youve played limbo it's very similar

dazzysima562d ago

Seems the PS Plus offer is running out of steam already.

Have they even added any new trials since launch?

rob-GP562d ago

Yes, loads - they just stupidly havn't updated the list on the console!

I can't recall of the top of my head but there's been a bunch of games, probably about 10 or so. I'm gonna drop Shu another email and try and get him to tell the UX team to update the list. It's annoying when they don't update things

VersusDMC562d ago

I checked out the soulstice trial recently. And i heard they added dying light 2 so i might check that one out as well.

MrNinosan562d ago

Running out of steam? This month is amazing, and the months before it has been great aswell.
At least 3 of the Dragon Quest games are great, Medium is okay, Assassins Creed is nice gems for those who missed put, Inside amazing, Castlevania superb, the Yakuza remakes are fantastic.

Lots of Trials has been added simce launch.
If you don't use the service or are interested enough to first check what's there, why comment?
