Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit! - PS Vita Review | Chalgyr's Game Room

Chalgyr's Game Room writes:

The Senran Kagura series first came into being at the tale end of 2011, where its first title, Senran Kagura: Shojo-tachi no Shinei (Senran Kagura: Skirting Shadows) was released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan. Since then it has received not only a number of video game spin-offs and sequels on various platforms, but also spawned a short anime and a number of manga publications. The original title was a side-scrolling ninja-themed action title (as was its sequel, Senran Kagura Burst). Since then it has stayed primarily a side-scrolling action game, though in 2014, Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson moved from a 2D side-scrolling game to a 3D side-scrolling game.

You’re definitely going to need to try your hand at importing to get the most of the genre here, but that shouldn’t be an issue thanks to region-free hardware and easy-to-grasp gameplay."

Travis Bruno of Capsule Computers writes:

"Fans of the Senran Kagura series have come to learn that the franchise is capable of crossing over into basically any genre at this point. With multiple action games released, a shooting title on the way, and previous titles making their way to the PC, the rhythm game Senran Kagura: Bon Appétit! is the latest entry to arrive for PC users. Packing all of the content previously released for the PS Vita title, is this bursting offering worthy of a purchase?"

Senran Kagura Bon Appetit (PC) - Otaku Gamers UK

"Senran Kagura Bon Appetit is the first major spin-off for the popular Senran Kagura series, ditching the games usual hack & slash affair for some rhythm based action. It also manages to take things in a completely different direction with its cooking contest, with the portable PSVita release now seeing a port to PC - complete with all DLC. Does this port manage to entice you to go back for seconds, or has too many desserts left your stomach upset? Let's take a look..."
