The Publishers and developers know exactly what is going on. They must have accurate numbers, especially at launch to ensure 1. sufficient production & 2. not to over produce.

The bargain bins are full of games that either had crap reviews, were over produced or missed their launch window for success.

EA and all the other big guys dont want thousands of unsold product sitting on the shelves waiting for the second wave of units plus having to compete with the second...

the attach rate of new 360 systems to the PES game. Many of the visitors to this site are Europeans and will have the largest impact of new 360 ownership.

Did you buy a 360 to play this game?

when the final remark from a major BR supporter is "we'll talk about it when the time is right'.

My intital reaction is a wait and see approach to what HDVD has coming in addition to the lackluster reaction that the general public is giving to another format change. This could be the format upgrade that the majority of the public just doesnt want or is remotely concerned about. I know that I just bought a Samsung upconverting DVD player with HDMI for $117 CDN, why the hel...

When people want to make comparisons to the upcoming PS network this is the reason that MS has this battle in the bag. Over 80 improvements on top of the hundreds already made, how many mistakes will SONY have to make before they even get close to the type of network MS is providing today.

Quite amazing

But the ability to retreive your paid songs is the David to Apples Goliath. When I pay $0.99 for a song, it's mine and I shouldn't be restricted to which player I put it on. In my case it is an iPod but that doesn't change the fact that I paid for the rights to it.

Stick it to 'em Jon.

When I was looking to buy my daughters a portable game system for last years Xmas the options were: PSP, Gameboy SP or the fancy new DS. Hmmm a $299 CDN proprietary movie/game player, a $ 129 CDN 32 bit 4 year old system with colour screen or a $149 CDN 64 bit, dual and touch screens, WiFi and backwards compatibility to hundreds of games. Duh.

Not only did I buy two DS units (one for each of my daughters) I went back two days after Xmas and bought one for myself. The DS is han...

But I am a converted Mac guy as of three years ago. If you want something that ensures you never look back, get a Mac. I am often using Firefox but I have to say that Safari for OSX is the best browser I have ever used. If you are a Mac person you know what I'm saying.

Check out this great ad by Apple between Mac and PC.

I don't get it. The eye reflection and tear looked cool though.

Not the Democrats, it would be the bible thumping Republicans that would enact a fool censorship ruling like that. The Republicans are so far up the church's ass you don't know where the head begins.
I agree with the comment though. This is not good for gaming in general.

Anyone else getting the hypocrisy of the former nazi regime restricting a violent game. Life offers us such cruel irony. Import it I guess.

Most retail stores in North America are box or mall outlets. The average size of a mall store wouldn't fit into half of the basement shown here. Great idea but due to the very high premium attached to floor/shelf space this simply couldn't happen here.

I remember when SONY had a travelling semi trailer of units that they would set up around cool events like extreeme boarding and bikes. That seemed to draw the kiddes in. A roaming 360 convey would be cheaper to facilitate than ...

There are good games, great games and system sellers. This my friends is a system seller. Gears of War-system seller, Splinter Cell 4-system seller, BioShock-you get where I'm going.

I'm not a big FPS guy (read zero) but I did dig the KOTOR and Jade Empire games (does anyone actually make better games than Bioware?). This game will move me to get a 360; and just in time too, as the 65n chip should be in by spring.

Wii this xmas and a 360 in the spring with Mass ...

How I can be typing this comment using a wireless bluetooth keyboard while connected to the internet with a 801.g router?

I call BS on the whole thing. I also have an office with 10 laptops running wireless internet and Bluetooth boards and mice. I dont think this story or the interpretations make sense.

The adoption rate is still debateable and like many comments above me, they state 'is there any reason to pick a side'? Consumers are tired of being the patsies of electronic companies and their mandate of adopting new formats in order to justify shareholder dividends and corporate bottom lines. Is there any other reason for these ongoing advancements? Of course it will be better but when is enough, enough.
I for one will skip this format war and survive nicely with an new HDTV, up-...

the DS? This is the perfect port to a DS. Touch screen and microphone make this a no brainer for DS. I'd buy it.

Hard as hell to play. Especially if your little frog guy kicks it after a month of playing. That sucks.

This is the same post as I made earlier but the traffic seems to be on this column.

This has to be the strongest console launch ever by any console. Look at the list of games and the definite support from virtually every 3rd party developer/publisher. It also appears as though they will have sufficient inventory to carry them through the Xmas season. I know that MS has spent a lot of time praising Nintendo for their innovation but that's what you do. Speaking negatively about y...

MS is crapping their pants as much as SONY is a...

Dual analog sticks its just a DS that play music and video (ahem PSP). Whoever figures out two analog sticks wins the advanced portable market as Nintendo 'owns' the A/B button/D-pad controller segment.

Would you buy one if it was the same price as a PSP? I would.
