"Best Buy's making you an offer you can't refuse!"
Lol... Someone needs to install Steam. Console gaming just is expensive. 12usd for the superior PC version is a freaking steal.
Its not hard creating a dual boot system on the PC. Keep an extra hard drive for windows XP if you must.
It only does everything :P
@Fanboi
The 32nm process itself is enough to ensure these new chips will overclock like champs and still run cooler then the I7 950. They are also faster clock for clock. I would say its a no brainer going for Sandybridge.
Enjoy paying premium per game much. Console gaming is just too expensive.
Friend of mine got it of Steam this holiday discount for 12.5usd worth every penny.
PS3 version had very low fps like 20-25fps and had low res textures. You need to see the PC version running, even asides the grass it looked a world apart from the PS3 version. Not to mention the silky smooth frame rates on PC version.
Last Uncharted was released in 2009 thats about 1 good console game in that year.
RDR was the only good console exclusive this year.
Why buy a console just for 2-3 GOOD exclusives a year, rest of the games are just cheaper and superior on PC anyways. No point spending so much money to get a console then pay royalties on every game to Microsoft or Sony just for those 2-3 exclusives a year(PC has its own exclusives too btw so those just count out against ea...
MGS collection is out on the PC, its called PS2 emulation :P
Yep PC gaming can be very cost effective, i have bought enough games this christmas to last me a good few months until the next discount.
With Console the prices of games never come down, in the long run Consoles become too costly to game on.
Personally dont really care about the odd games that are Console exclusive, most games are out on PC anyways and are alot cheaper.
If i look at the year 2010, i hardly see a console exclusive worth talking about. Only game i would have liked this year on PC would be RDR.
Overall i must have played 25-30 games this year. For 2-3 games that are console exclusive i am not going to end up paying more for all the rest of games i do play on PC (which i bought f...
@reynod
19.99usd for Console gaming is Low. How else would Console makers get their royalties.
I might consider it, if they released a PC version.
@below
Its a good thing the game didnt sell well, Maybe next time Microsoft will be less inclined to buy out games that were otherwise supposed to be multiplat.
The average PC gamer is of a much more mature age then the average console gamer, which is why there is strong team work.
Console gamers are also artificially handicapped due to use of controller.
Depends what res you want to run it at. Doesnt take powerful hardware to play it at Console res which is Sub HD. Now if you want to play the game in 1080 near 60fps, i would recommend a I5 CPU + any decent GPU(since the game is heavily CPU bound, an entry level to mid range gpu will be more then enough),
L4D2 is by far the most fun coop shooter out this gen specially the PC version.
Yep bought many games this sale, just bought Hot pursuit today 40% off lol. Steam and the rest of the DD network has ensured PC gaming is by far the cheapest platform to game on.
Any 4 year old system can run L4D. Provided it has a GPU made for gaming(Those can be had very cheap today).
@Arup02
Not hard making a system much more powerful for 1/8th the cost.
My current spec is:
I7 980x OC to 4.5ghz on air
580gtx sli
6 gig ram
3 screens for surround gaming
A setup that would compete with my system can easily be had for around 2k usd. The I7 980 just needs to be replaced with a 950 or so.
Reason why console gamers could be lagging behind PC is because they are artificially held back due to the controller.
They probably want people to buy sequels if people are to continue playing online.
Cooperate greed at its best.
