A lot of this is really smart and is half the reason I will buy the game. It's always the little things like, touching the wall as you turn the corner or walking down the steps and not take 3 or four at a time but one by one like in LA Noir. I hope that this game it worth it.

blackblades39d ago

Quality of life, I played a demo the other day and to go back and forth at one point I was like MF*. Quality of life should always be considered and F* the make it realistic simulation. He to play a video game not play a simulator. I also no going back to old games be like daaaaamn wheres the quality of life what a drag.

mariopasta38d ago

All these points are pleasing to know

Psychonaut8537d ago

Respects my time (this) vs doesn’t respect my time (DD2). I’m almost 40, and work full time, plus have a relationship; I simply don’t have room in my life for games that don’t respect my time. I’m sure DD2 will be awesome, but I still haven’t even finished RDR2, cuz I feel like I need a 4 hour block to really dive into it, and I almost never do.

VincentVanBro37d ago

Pretty stupid to make assumptions about which game wastes your time more when neither game has released imo

Kiryu199237d ago

Stupid to assume what when developers have shared plenty of information regarding their games

Psychonaut8535d ago

Perhaps. Just going off of them saying there’s no save reloading and no real fast travel til late in the game. We shall see.

NiceneCreeder37d ago

stick with mobile games you filthy casual.
if you can't put aside a few hours - open world ANYTHING isn't for you.

Psychonaut8535d ago

Ha! You mad bro? If a game pulls me in enough and hooks me, I’ll make the time. I’ve got like 250 hrs in Hades most recently. So I’m not as you say a “filthy casual”. Just when a game up front advertises that it has essentially no fast travel and no save reloading, which interprets to a whole lot of backtracking and running around, so it knocks it down my interest list a bit. That’s all. But by all means continue insulting people you don’t know on the internet, I’m sure it brings you intense satisfaction. Have a good one

Cockney37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

Apparently you are both stupid and a filthy casual, its a tough pill to swallow i know but these guys know what they're talking about, why not listen to them, take what they say on board then dismiss them as fools and get on with life. I like my 20-30 hrs games, any longer and I can't be arsed to start it

Kiryu199237d ago (Edited 37d ago )

RDR2 is way way worst because each and every looting animation is 3-5 seconds long, fast travel is simply broken, R* game design of go to this icon to start the mission and than ride your horse all the way back to do the mission before riding again to finish the mission

We all play games to have fun as a hobby. There should be options for gamers who want to play simulation gameplay and those who want a general game experience of being able to fast travel anywhere, auto ammo pickup etc

And now dragon dogma 2 is sticking to some game mechanics that should be improved with more modern options

I'm in the same camp at 42, extremely busy at work with a career and a family to take care of. The newest, and most delightful member takes so much time that I basically have 1 hour of my own time in the evening, and during weekends maybe 2 hours in the evening. During that precious time, if I keep troubleshooting PC games, spend time on loading screen, or chase some markers on a map or just am not generally doing something awesome and inspiring all the time, I don't game at all. And that is what it has come to.

I have the top of the line PC, all the consoles you may want, all the games you may want, and all the gear you may want from visuals to audio. But if the game doesn't respect my time, or I spend time troubleshooting technical problems, I'm done. I'd rather watch youtube and do something passive. Or just go out for a run or do yoga. My day is full of work and stress, games need to be the opposite of that.

For others who don't understand this about the business:
Gaming companies are competing for your attention, not for your wallet. It is the minutes they want so that you keep going back to them, spending more. This is based on consumer insights research and all large gaming companies know it and are after your time, not money. Everyone knows this, but the non-business savvy gamers who just focus on playing them, not the business world around them (I'm not talking about fan events and fandom.)

VincentVanBro35d ago

That's like saying because of your busy life, you can't read long books. Absurd really. I am 35 y/o, married, have kids, make 6 figures, work from home, run 8-10 miles a day, and I can't be bothered to discriminate between long and short games. Fun per hour is my metric. How much fun am I having each hour I play?

the best deal i got on PlayStation stars was getting a 10 dollar PSN card with points and getting Assassin creed black flag with it for free this was a month ago and have finished the game {one of the best Assassin creed games for sure}

rlow19d ago

I love black flag. For me it was the best of all the assassin creed games.

VersusDMC10d ago

Doing the calculations you would save 10$ plus tax on helldivers 2 with the points over using them on psn credit. At least in canada.

Problem is i doubt i will ever get to 10k points. I got 2k points and i will probably use 1250 to get 5 off the FXVI DLC.

Lexreborn210d ago

I got 6200 I am debating on using it to put towards rise of ronin or continue stacking it

thorstein10d ago

Every time I get enough points to buy a $5 credit to my wallet, that's what I do. 1,250 points for $5.

I don't think I'd save up that many points.

CrimsonWing6910d ago

I mean, technically you have to spend enough money on the PSN store to acquire the points, but yea once you have enough you cash them in for these so it is free in that sense.

FPSRUSSIA10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

i agree the only downside is its only for digital items games DLC etc but it is worth it if you collect enough points.

MrNinosan10d ago

I actually have close to 10k points without spending anything on digital purchases.
It all comes from the free points that can be acquired.

Demetrius9d ago

Sony should offer coupons that offer discounts, maybe pay a fee for like 2 or 3 more coupons to use for that month on whatever you wana buy like 50% off coupons, idk something lol
