IGN After the disappointing LittleBigPlanet Karting and the rather lightweight F1 Race Stars, it’s hardly been a banner year for kart racers. Yet the ever-reliable Sumo Digital may just have changed all that. Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed might have an unwieldy title, but it’s a beautiful, inventive racer that dares to be a little different. Chocobo GP had potencial to be a worthy competitor, but Square Enix just couldn't help itself from ruining it with bad monetization. Still fun to run a couple of races from time to time, though.

I really don't know what Sega can do to bring back Sonic. They tried brining him back to his roots but that failed just as the article suggested, poor level design and bad gameplay. The rest were all gimmicks poorly executed, so my only suggestion would be to FIRE Team Sonic.
If Mario can venture off into new gameplay areas and still be successful with spin offs after spin offs then that shows a true testament to the developing power of the Mario team at Nintendo. There is no reason why Sonic shouldn't have the same success in all his games and spin off.
Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed needs a sequel. I mean did it really do that bad that Sega dropped all support for consoles? I mean the PC version got a bunch of updates including extra characters why couldn't they port that over to the consoles? It's a shame because my friends and I play that game religiously, it's the closest to Mario Kart we have.
2008-2011 they had a working formula. Sonic Unleashed,Sonic Colors, and Sonic Generation was not sonic's roots at the core (Sonic Adventure is more true to the 2D Genesis games) but fans loved it and it was fun. Then they screwed around with it in Lost World and Shat on it with sonic Boom
Make it a requirement for workers to play Sonic 1-3 and Sonic Adventure 1 & 2.
Keep releasing games like Generations, Allstars transformed and Unleashed, and they should be good!
This has to be major proof of what's wrong with ign's reviews. I'm not talking about the 7 score, I'm talking how much they contradict them selfs. Look at the pluses and minuses, and I quote: + beautiful looks, then - visually downgraded??!!? Or + thrillingly dynamic tracks then, - poorer performance than CONSOLE versions....( they have a 3ds version so why compare it to consoles?!?). Then its a copy and paste review from consoles , they forgot to erase the quote about split screen multiplayer. Also how can they complain about the graphics but then show not 1 pic or video on the vita version of the game? Fucken sickening to see how much ign wants to hurt the vita. They even recommend you buy the console version when its a handheld game they are reviewing... I mean dam it's a handheld, unless imma put my ps3 and tv in my pocket and hope the bus has an outlet to plug it in.. Why even say that. To sum it all up I'm fed up with ign on vita reviews, they've loSt my trust and respect. They are part of the reason such a great handheld is being ripped unjustly. Until they start to compare it to the 3ds (other than on sells numbers that's the only time I see them comparing the two for some reason)... They'll continue to lose real gamers respect and support.
Btw I love my 3ds this is not a comment trolling on it, its just that's the vitas direct competitor. They should be comparing the two. Not comparing consoles with the vita.

I played the game for a couple of hours and actually never experienced slow down...and the visuals are NO WHERE near as bad as ppl are making them out to be.
THe game runs as it should, and plays amazingly.
This stupid review almost made me skip the game, this is what happens when u outsource your stupid reviews, inconsistent rating system.
this game is at least as good as consoles, but better since you can play on the game, and it stays faithful to the REAL GAME.
9/10 for me, great gameplay and already a patch out to fix bugs.
Also ppl, the graphics are actually very hard to distinguish with the high paced gameplay, I'd say if you really want to know the difference I would say it's like having SSAO on/off in game (Ps3 is SSAO on, and vita is SSAO off), the vita OLED makes the game shine.
Also I'm really impressed by how good the texture work and water geometry is in the portable version.
