Indie Game of the Week: Hack, Slash, Loot
Ah, the classic dungeon crawl. It’s a fun thing, isn’t it? Wait… wait… dear god…

Yes, I died many times in making this video, and I’ve died many more since making that video. This game is damn unforgiving, and I actually like that. Hack, Slash, Loot is a wonderful dungeon crawler is the purest sense. You get dropped in a dungeon and set on a quest all by yourself. The monsters are vicious, and can end you. Oh, will they end you. Regardless of the difficulty curve, which I was surprised by since I hadn’t played a dungeon crawler like this in quite a long while, the game is fun. You get to do exactly as promised in the title, as well as cast magic and use a bow and arrow, all of which I fail miserably at using.

For anyone that enjoys roguelikes and dungeon crawlers, or is looking to get into them, I really recommend this game. It may not be perfect, but it does so many things right and it's a heck of a lot of fun to play. The music is pretty epic too.

This and DoomRL are my new favorite roguelikes. =P

And speaking of Doom..

Brutal Doom, especially on Nightmare, is really freaking awesome. Just discovered it yesterday.
