UGO:
Resident Evil sheds its survival horror skin for a team tactical shooter that's high on action, references and fan service in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. If you enjoyed the Raccoon City setting of the original games and want to experience a different take on the events in a “what if?” scenario, you'll find plenty to enjoy in this Slant Six Games developed game.
GF365: "Is Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City worth playing in 2023? This game originally received less than impressive reviews from critics and gamers alike. You may be wondering what this game is all about."
game was ridiculously dark when i played it bk then. not sure about now.
ike you couldnt see a damn thing ha
Now that Resident Evil 3 remake is less than a month away, here's a look back at the other times Capcom reimagined the 1999 classic game.
The Gamer's Ghost returns in this Late in the Game Review series to revisit Raccoon City. Did Slant Six Games' premier Resident Evil title hold up to the series' standards? Or was it rotten, like the very zombies spawned from Umbrella's dastardly research?
I actually thought this was a fun game. Was it great? No. But there were some very cool moments in the game.
Stand outs were taking on the Nemesis with a group and the Tyrant on the elevator.
One if the worst games I ever had the dishonor of playing I'm glad Capcom has rebounded to making quality games now even outside the RE series.
I think B- and mid to low 80's is a realistic score.
Damm right it is, i got this game and 8/10 is a good score. That what's i would give it. I love the game, why it is getting so much hate is because people don't like change. They love CoD and the same shit every year.....These people tried something new and it's 1 of the best co-op game to date.

- First off the resident evil franchise has not been survival horror for years, and it shed it's survival horror skin since the release of resident evil 4 and onwards. Also it has been nothing but a mediocre action franchise since the release of resident evil 4 and onwards. Furthermore stating that it is doing fan service, for who? certainly it is not doing any fan service for long time fans like me who has supported the series since re 1 released on the ps1.
The re franchise did not become one of the biggest franchises in the video game industry by relying heavily on action and ditching the survival horror element like it has been since re 4. As a matter of fact the main reason why it became so big in the first place is because it was one of the best survival horror franchises on the market, it had action that complimented the series well while still maintaining the survival horror element at its core and the good resident evil 3 nemesis entry in the franchise is a perfect example of that.
I can tell that the author is not a true fan of the re franchise simply by the fact that they are claiming that re:orc is ditching the survival horror element, relying heavily on action, and then claim that re: orc is doing fan service based on those previous statements in which the authors claims couldn't be more farther from the truth.
I have not played the game yet and I am not saying that the game is bad, but from what I have heard from various sources is it clearly doing very little if any fan service whatsoever for true fans of the series. I plan to pick it up when the price drops to at least a $30-$40 or lower price point, that is saying a lot considering that I looked forward to each new entry in the re franchise prior to re 4.
