NintendoLife: After looking at the box art you’d be forgiven for thinking Zoo Resort 3D was a cutesy zoo management sim; in fact, you’ll find it's the complete opposite. With a realistic aesthetic and set of mechanics that sets it apart from simulation titles in general, it certainly provides a unique experience on 3DS. Moreover it’s actually entertaining, to begin with at least.
Backlog Quest is a month long special event on Clearance Bin Review featuring daily game reviews of the games that have sat on the shelf for simply too long; old and new.
From Day 20 – Zoo Resort, Tristan Rendo writes, "Zoo Resort screams shovelware. Developed for the 3DS by Ubisoft, the game’s whole premise basically surrounds taking photos of the animals in your pretend zoo. Not only does the premise not sound all that impressive, but the fact that the game came out almost immediately after the 3DS launched with little to no marketing behind it threw more fuel on the shovelware fire.
So imagine my surprise when it turned out to be a kind of addictive and fun little game."
"From the developers of Harvest Moon and the recent Cubic Ninja comes Zoo Resort 3D, a game that explores the capabilities of the 3DS through good use of the camera, gyroscopic controls, and the 3D Screen. The end result is an experience that's pretty fun and surprisingly worth looking into." -- Wiiloveit.com
