10 PSOne classics we want remade for PS3: 10-6

PSU - Okay folks, don’t deny it. You’ve been sitting there playing one of your favourite PSOne Classics that you’ve just downloaded from the PlayStation Store, and you’re basking in nostalgia. Those pixelated pleasures are bringing back found memories of the ‘90s, back when Live & Kicking was still the best thing on a Saturday morning and Lara Croft was decorating the bedroom wall of lusty teenagers everywhere. Yet, concurrently, you can’t help but think, “Wouldn’t this game be bloody fantastic if it got a full blown PS3 makeover?” If so, then you’re not alone.

I love Medal of Honor, Legend of Dragoon, and Crash Team Racing.

I put so many hours into CTR its ridiculous. Medal of Honor was basically like the first shooter game I really played it was great. Legend of Dragoon is a fantastic RPG

PCRockStar4542d ago

I rather have the remakes for the PS4. Time to move on from the PS3 in my opinion.

NukaCola4542d ago (Edited 4542d ago )

In case anyone didn't know.

Oddworld Abe's Oddysee is coming to PSN next year in HD! 2.5D keeping the same artstyle but really enhancing the visuals and fluidity. I am more than excited. I hope for Exoddus too as these two games are my personal favorite games ever.

DarkBlood4542d ago

i make it a point to play legend of dragoon and beat it once every year

RedDead4542d ago (Edited 4542d ago )

I can't believe I haven't played this yet actually. Every year I beat either one or two of FF's, chrono trigger, and recently played Xenogears and Suikoden 2 which will add to the list. FF7 was the most recent replay. Back in march or something

laaakokaracha4542d ago

nice choice for thumbnail pic :D

DarkBlood4542d ago

i believe meru being a dragoon that early in the game is a save glitch that you can do

ForROME4542d ago

PARAPPA THE RAPPA? annnnnnnnnnd, NO

fluffydelusions4542d ago (Edited 4542d ago )

Game was great fun back in PS1 days though don't know how it would it translate over to current gen of FPS lovers TBH. Seriously, there was so much more variety back when PS1 was around. Also had a lot of fun with the jet moto series back then as well.

Acquiescence4542d ago

Personally, I'd go with...

Final Fantasy VII - but only if I knew Square could pull it off for certain, which is doubtful, regrettably.
Rollcage
Fear Effect
JumpingFlash!
Rival Schools
The Legend Of Dragoon
The Adventures Of Alundra
Vagrant Story
Ape Escape
Galerians

Soul Blade, as much as I love it, doesn't really need remaking as we've got Soulcalibur V on the way. I mean, to this day the Soulcalibur series doesn't really do anything that different from what was established at the very beginning.

Parappa The Rapper is perfect; it doesn't need remaking. Just give us Parappa The Rapper 3 instead.

fluffydelusions4542d ago

Resident evil series was also tops back in this era.

Relientk774542d ago

The PlayStation, and PlayStation 2 are my favorite consoles of all time, and I doubt that will ever change

PhantomTommy4542d ago

Rollcage! man that was awsome, a Fear Effect remake would be great too.

Remembering Medal Of Honor: The Forgotten Master Of WW2 Games

Ibrahim from eXputer: "The Medal of Honor franchise was once the crown jewel of FPS war games, later defeated by the tides of time and poor development."

banger8821d ago

They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.

FPS_D3TH19d ago

Was literally just thinking of this game the other week with the secret nut cracker mission and the shooting Bismarck dog lmao. Loved these games as a kid

PrecursorOrb19d ago (Edited 19d ago )

I wish they’d remake warfighter

Strictly for the campaign

The_Hooligan19d ago

I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.

Fans Are Begging for a Legend of Dragoon Remake

For some gamers, The Legend of Dragoon is, hands down, the best RPG ever. Isn't it time for a remake or reboot and not just a port?

It never will. The game may have been good, but it was just average at best. The kind of game that is one and done.

Story was good combat was better than ffvii. Game deserves a REMAKE not a remaster

Cacabunga91d ago

We’ve been asking since ps3

Vx_90d ago (Edited 90d ago )

It was anything but average! The story and characters were highly captivating, the gameplay was enjoyable, and the world was interesting. Fans have been requesting a remake for quite some time. I revisited the game last year and found myself completely immersed in it once again. The PS1 had numerous beautiful classic JRPGs that truly deserve remakes.

FinalFantasyFanatic91d ago

I'm happy with the PS Classics port, but if they did, I'd like a port/remaster of Legend of Legaia as well (please put that on PSN).

FACTUAL evidence91d ago

I was just going to say legend of legaia REALLY needs to get the remake. Also keep the combat the same, and the OST. Legend of legaia a truly a gem. I still have my original ps1 game, mint condition.

FinalFantasyFanatic89d ago

I wish I still had my disc, I really enjoyed that game as a kid, but then the disc disappeared (I'm normally pretty good with my games, so it's strange that it's the only game I've ever lost), I have Legaia 2 still, but it's not as good as the first game, unfortunately. It's surprising the first has never been on PSN when Sony owns the license for the game, they seem content to sit on it and do nothing with it.

Spenok91d ago

We've been begging for one for decades.

Lionsguard91d ago

If any game deserves a remake and to be FINISHED properly is Xenogears.

ManMarmalade91d ago

And Xenosaga. Only had 3 parts but was supposed to have 6.

CrimsonWing6991d ago

Yea but if it does get made please don’t remove the turn-based combat.

If Square Enix can remake FF7, then why not Sony?
Remake these classics, Sony ... not recent games like Until Dawn

darthv7295d ago

Bluepoint would be the perfect studio to tackle this classic.

RaidenBlack95d ago

lets see ... Bluepoint's remakes are great ...but not total reworks like RE2 or FF7
but pretty sure they can come up with a good Remake of Legend of Dragoon

solideagle94d ago

to be fair it's a good game, not a great one. I recently played in on PS5. combat becomes stale after doing the same button skills again and again. I think they will have to overhaul combat like FF VII remake then it will shine. Story was good though!

RaidenBlack94d ago

yea, hence I said Remake not Remaster

porkChop94d ago

Cory Barlog literally said his dream project would be remaking The Legend of Dragoon. If I remember correctly, he's actually pitched it before but Sony refused to greenlight it.

RaidenBlack93d ago (Edited 93d ago )

Damn
I recall Barlog also expressed interest in remaking Silent Hill 1 once ...

XiNatsuDragnel94d ago (Edited 94d ago )

Please please remake this.

jznrpg94d ago

I’d like a remake of this and I want Square to remake Vagrant Story

GoodGuy0994d ago (Edited 94d ago )

Crazy square doesn't do this kind of thing themselves with all their classics. I'd throw lots of money. Thank God we have such great communities as they're always the ones that properly remaster these games.

DrewUniverse93d ago

Porting means rewriting a game's code to run natively on another platform. Many think LoD's release on PS4/5 is a port, but it's actually running on an emulator. Roms are the "game" itself. Both emulators and PC ports use these roms to load the game. The difference? Emulators imitate original hardware, with many of their limitations still in place. It's why some types of modding are difficult or unfeasible. With a native PC port, modding is way easier and the core game runs much more efficiently.
