Tony Hawk returns in 2012

Activision put the Tony Hawk franchise on hiatus for 2011, but now there are reports that the licensed skateboarding legend will return next year.

Hawk himself stated in an interview with PixelatedGeek, "We're going to do something probably for next year but I can't give too much away."

pls not these stupid board things this time

rabidpancakeburglar5194d ago

I think they are pretty set on the board but hopefully I'm wrong

Honestly, those devs need to go back and play this one because this is where they had it right.

hatchimatchi5193d ago

exactly,

thps2 is the best in the series. It had the perfect blend of over the topness and realism. It even had a code to make the physics more realistic.

jimbone795193d ago

Hell yea, and I'm not sure who was in what one, but I loved skating around as Spider-man, Wolverine, Darth Maul, and all the other bad-ass characters the put in those.

fatstarr5193d ago

nail on the head. if they make a traditional tony hawk idk how cliché and payed out it is. im gonna buy it.

Yep, that is a game we really don't need. I think Skate did justice to skateboarding and everyone knows it's the best skateboarding game out there. Tony Hawk skateboarding should just stay dead.

Activision, spend your money on something new and unique.

gcolley5194d ago

unfortunately there won't be a skate 4

I must find Tony Hawk and kill him!

Dont blame TH. You should be attacking Bobby Nodick

Just take the series back to its roots. The first several Tony Hawk games were great fun, before it got bogged down with misguided attempts at realism and innovation.

Also, don't go back to a yearly milking schedule. Brand burnout is what compelled the developers to force crazy changes to the series in the first place. Give it at least 2 years between releases.

the old TH games would not hold up today. EA Skate is just perfection, the only way is for TH to imitate.

That controller looks like a cheap knockoff... it should have been a proper DS5 design.

...the VR aspect in 7 IS the redeeming quality.

Abriael5h ago(Edited 5h ago)

what a dumb take.

Ace Combat 7 is one of the best games of the past generation. It doesn't need VR gimmicks to "redeem" it.

Look, I’m a simple man. I see Ace Combat and say, “Yes!”

Abnor_Mal5h ago(Edited 5h ago)

Can we get a new Ace Combat, with full vr and not just three or four levels, for PS5 and PSVR2
Also if we could get a remake of my all time favorite, Ace Combat5: The Unsung War, again with full vr for every mission with DualSense and flight stick haptics.
