Koei Announces TGS Plans

Heading the line up is Dynasty Warriors 6, the first PS3 and Xbox 360 entry in one of Japan's consistent million selling franchises. Although both versions of the game are due out in Japan on 11/22, TGS will mark their playable debut. IGN will scrutinize the two to add fuel to the system flame wars.

Nintendo fans can look forward to Opoona and Sengoku Musou Katana (Samurai Warriors) for the Wii. The DS will see a followup to Sangokushi DS and an English language trainer, Gabu Gabu Planet.

resistance1006082d ago

I've been interested in Ni-Oh since the first trailer why won't they show anything else about it

cooke156082d ago

Opoona is the first original Koei title i am actually interested in.

nirwanda6082d ago

Is there any point in releasing dynasty warriors 6 on the 360 I know ms want to break japan but this just isn't going to sell anywhere in great numbers outside japan
well done to ms for get koei to support them in japan(must have cost em) where they are big and ms is tiny

barom6082d ago

uhm, I don't think it's gonna help MS in Japan. because I think only the english translated versions is gonna come out on X360.

Last time I checked the japanese version is coming out this year for the PS3 while the english versions are gonna come out in 2008 (I assume both PS3/X360 versions). So you see Koei is strictly business, it goes where the money goes.

Edit:
Forgot to say that this is what they did with the DW:Gundam

RadientFlux6082d ago (Edited 6082d ago )

wow talk about milking a franchise for all it's worth... it also looks wise to avoid buying Dynasty Warriors 6 and wait for the Extreme/Special/Hyper version

icefenix88 : thanks for info I got bored of Dynasty Warriors after the 2nd one and stopped following the series

Chaos Striker6082d ago (Edited 6082d ago )

But each of the Dynasty Warriors games (not the hyper/empires/extreme versions) have sold millions like the articles says, so they will keep making them and I highly doubt that it will ever get old because people in Asia are really adamant about this franchise.
@RadientFlux,
The Xtreme version of DW# is basically an expansion and the Empire's version is more of an RTS kind of thing. And the Special/Hyper's are the PC versions...so its pretty much take your pick depending on what you prefer
**your welcome =)

I'm excited for a switch 2 however I don't feel it will be coming this year as per the tweet in they are commuting to a reveal in this Japanese financial year in 2025.

Realistically we will get one last holiday season to focus on the switch because it would be madness for Nintendo to go into the holidays where the switch always performs well when they have announced a switch 2.

I'm thinking we see a announcement late Jan 25 personally with a release between March and June depending on when the software is ready and how strong the holday sales were if they need to boost those figures for the next earnings call or not

gold_drake3h ago

yea agreed. they'll probably match it with the new pkmn game they announced

VenomUK3h ago

So it begins!

Where one contender pulls out of the game, another comes back bigger and stronger.

Nintendo Switch 2 - let the games begin.

Neonridr41m ago

I'd say it'll be released before March 2025 tbh.
