the only numbers I'm interested in are mw2 vs. blackops pc version.

There's not as much backlash against Treyarch from the pc community so this is a title pc gamers will probably buy.

Especially considering you can pre-order it on d2d 25% off with the coupon code bigsavings.

"There's not as much backlash against Treyarch from the pc community"
What backlash?

Also, most gamers could care less about the politics of gaming, I'm betting most don't even know about the Infinity Ward scandal.
All they know is there is a new Call of Duty game.
Most of the guys at work are really excited about Black Ops, more-so than MW2, because it is different and the feature set looks to be quite better than MW2.

I think this analyst is way off. Black Ops will do just as good, if not better than MW2.

It seems Activision cares too much about sales figures these days. And yes I live in reality a know fully that all games companies exist to make money but there is a balance between pleasing fans (no 5 hour singleplayer thanks or charging crazy money for map packs almost on release day) and raking in the cash.

People might not hate Activision now (not enough people anyway) but being too money hungry always comes back to bite you in the arse.

JsonHenry5331d ago

I don't care which one sells more. As long as I enjoy my purchase I'm good.

TheBlackSmoke5331d ago

aww so activison will only sell 80 billion compared to the usual 100 billion... :(

r0gueZA5331d ago

I personally think it will surpass MW2 on all platforms, but I agree - its pc units should be much better.

Ares84PS35331d ago

I liked it more than MW1 and MW2. So I'm expecting this game to be good as well.

But as for the online....I don't think I will be playing much. I have no patiance for cheaters and low lifes.

JeffGUNZ5331d ago

Word on the street is Treyarch is dropping ban hammers on glicthers, cheaters, and modders. Let's see if that actually happens.

Ares84PS35331d ago

IW did nothing at all and it reached a point where I just took out the disk and never played it again.

That was in Fabruary though.

I tried to play online this summer but not a single match went by where people didn't cheat. Not one.

hellsere5331d ago

WTF!!
Its the latest COD!! It always sells more than before!!

Psychotica5331d ago

I think I will play this a lot more because of the combat training. So when\if this game get plagued with cheaters in multiplayer I will still have use of the game.

Neko6085331d ago (Edited 5331d ago )

Swore off CoD after MW2 become the abomination that it currently is. I had no intentions of getting BO until about a month ago, now I can't wait for it.

I give Treyarch huge props for trying to ensure the game is BALANCED, which IMO will lead to more people playing it longer.

I predict BO will have legs, and will end up selling more than MW2 in the long run, but not initially.

JLeVRT5331d ago

Whats so bad about MW2!? You guys are finally gettin killed so you all stopped playin!? I played it this past weekend and NO ONE cheated!

While i appreciate the gesture.... all of these retro classics have been made available everywhere else. I am hoping to see some other Activision properties make their way out of the shackles of the 5th, 6th and 7th gen. Licensing be damned... bring back the Transformers Cybertron games.

P_Bomb23d ago

Love the Cybertron games! TF games have been shit lately. Would love to see that era revisited. I even did the multiplayer!

MrBaskerville22d ago

Is the retro classics for all consoles?

Only a big company that has interest in gaming like Microsoft or Tencent could have acquired Activision. Extremely low interest rates at that time certainly helped.

Not exactly sure that a merger with EA would’ve benefited any of their franchises or gamers. I imagine it would’ve been like the activision blizzard one were each publisher retains their own identity. So Activison-Blizzard-EA. But who knows.

fsfsxii120d ago

If it was owned by EA, COD could’ve disappeared a looong time ago. They have no clue how to manage franchises.

Gamingsince1981107d ago

It's a shame EA didn't buy them then, COD should die, it's past its prime and has been since black ops 2, I started playing it when cod 4 mw first came out and it has been downhill since.

thank goodness we dodged that landmine 😒
