Recently Steven ter Heide the producer of Killzone 2 was interviewed by killzone.com.

lets see some gameplay talk is cheap.
I've been looking for stuff on this game, and its hard to find. At least with lair they showed some in game walk through stuff.
This game could be excellent, but i guess we will have to wait and see until game play is shown.
the game is gonna suck just like the first one i'm afraid. i can't believe people are still hyping this game just because of the cgi trailer. Pathetic.
they might learn from their mistakes and greatly improve it.
But yes just basing it on a cg trailer is kinda lame.
then again, we probably all have done that before.
You know it took 7 Final Fantasy Games before it hit the big time. Not all games start out as monster successes, some games take time, i don't base my judgements on the E305 trailer of Killzone but rather the potential the first one showed but the machine was unable to grasp at the time.
Was a big seller and got people ready for FF7.
the first game did not suck. just because a game isnt taken in by the mass media doesn't mean its not a good game. Take the Game Okami for instance.
umm... but see there is a difference there... okami may not have sold well but it still got great reviews... killzone didnt sell well and it got sh1t reviews... cuz it sucked...
Good job on the interviewer for not asking much about KZ2.
sometimes it takes a game or two to properly get out what their trying to get out.
like GTA/Burnout (both got great on the 3rd)
i think the Getaway/Black/KZ might be in posistion to get WAAAY better this time around.
and i agree w/ the rest of you who just want to see some Gameplay Footage already.
i kinda agree.
but my point was to get their ideas out, w/ what they wanted the crashes to be like and the overall polish of the game.
everyone i know thinks burnout started going downhill at 3 not got better !!!
burnout was so good then ea killed it !
dodge the cars not plow through them !
This news should be in the PSP section as well.
This has been law ever since gaming started. A sequel to an average game is always equal or worse to its predecessor. Look at Halo 2. If that couldn't top its predecessor, how can Killzone?
Generally because Halo 1 was such a great game and hard to top, whereas KZ1 was alright and probably not difficult to top. Though upon original inception I wasn't thinking too much, after reading about the early previews of this game I'm getting pretty interested in it.
I'll wait for some in game footage though.
I found the first halo to be better than Halo 2.
The first halo is one of my favorite fps's next to goldeneye 64.
I liked halo 2, but it just wasn't as good as the first halo, to me at least.
But maybe they could still improve Killzone 2.
I guess we will have to wait, sadly .
The problem with the Halo series is that they aren't trying to evolve, they are happy staying where they are at and adding slight tweaks.
While Killzone appears to be revamping everything so it won't be the same game we saw on PS2.
"This has been law ever since gaming started. A sequel to an average game is always equal or worse to its predecessor."
God Of War 2 is better than the first one. Killzone is also making a jump to next-gen, so I expect it to be better. I bet you Sony wouldn't have supported this game again if they didn't see something that would benefit them. The game is such a mystery though...
it would be nice to see some gameplay though. yeah i agree with u anego montoya, i cant believe ppl didnt believe the first getaway was great if not above average.
In my mind Killzone Gameplay video clips PWNED Halo 3 gamplay video clips. Gaylo 3
there is a halo 3 beta so we kinda get a taste of what is to come, and see possible improvements for the final product. Now whether you agree whether the game will be good or not is another issue.
But wouldn't you agree that you need more than video clips, but instead actually see game play to make a proper judgment. For good or bad?
Killzone 2 could be great, but for me to think that, i need to see more.
I mean Lair kinda got me excited after seeing a walk through of the actual game.
"Killzone Gameplay video clips"
That's funny, because last time I checked, there WEREN'T ANY gameplay clips.
Unless you were comparing Killzone 1 to Halo 3, which would just be stupid.
i didn't they was a killzone 2 vid would u kindly show us this vid that pawns
Their second game Killzone Liberation was named to be the best game on the PSP...getting an average of 9. What brought down the ps2 version? Glitch after glitch. You think theyd have that in the ps3 version. Doubt it. Everything is there to make a good game, they just have to execute it. IMO of course
hopefully they do
ps. you can tell they are under huge nda's for Killzone 3...he didn't answer ONE question about it (they didnt ask one) even though at the begining he said he was knee deep in Killzone 2 stuff. I mean this interview was about Killzone Liberation...yet everyone is talking about Killzone ps3 lol
too bad, i wanted to know more.
This time I think the game would be a little better I doubt this game is going to outsell halo...hell no it wont lets be real you can hate all you want on the halo3 (beta)let see if these guys are going to give you guys a beta.Remmenber the single player always has better graphic's than the multiplayer, and thats all we've seen so far from halo3 is just multiplayer.
talk about the actual article? its about liberation. killzone 2 is only mentioned once or twice.
a wise man once said: a person who has nothing productive to say shouldn't say it
anyways, i'm happy with liberation. it actually exceeded my expectations for the game.
never judge a book by its cover.Thats what people do when they see the halo 3 beta and its just a beta
Well hopefully there working on gameplay 1st and visuals later! I really hope this is a good game because the PS3 really needs a shooter that stands out and not a over hyped RFOM! Really I wouldn't be surprised if this game released late in 2008! Boring interview though and somewhat of a joke!
I feel the same way bro
Killzone will be a PS3 seller. It may be the reason I buy one.
Is that it was hyped up to be the Halo Killer, and that was a huge mistake because that riased everyones expectations way to high.
When I first heard back in 2004 that it was gonna kill Halo 1 my first thought was, "Your joking, right"? And to this day I always say, "Your joking, right"?
If people want this game to be good, just don't hype it up as a Halo Killer, it could surprise everyone like Halo 1 did 6 years ago.
Of course alot of people are gonna flame me for saying that, but I am speaking from past experience.
motorstorm E3 = motorstorm game looked pretty close to the E3 trailer(and the game was [email protected]
killzone2 E3 trailer - i dont know about u but if they are making the game interaction anything near what we saw in the trailer then everything just got owned - so much [email protected][email protected]
people that have seen the tech demo - stated that some parts exceed the E3 trailer - models look close to the E3 trailer and were blown away by the graphics
phil also stated in an interview that he has seen parts that exceed the trailer
E3 2007 all our "lets see some gameplay" footage will be shown and u can go sell ur xbox360 lol
with this must closer for a game and the money and the amount of dev working on it and the space on a bluray - its save to say this game is gonna rock the socks off of our feet
Remember at the moment it is Halo 3's playable multiplayer Beta against Killzone 2's CGI trailer.
Not trying to diss Killzone, but realtime gameplay speaks more than a CGI trailer.
SO this was the big news you guys were waiting for ? Liberation for PSP. What happened to KZ2? 2 years down the road and no piece of info. Kind of disappeared after the biggest lie of the decade.
Please, this game is gonna rock. I loved the first one, bought the one for the PSP (even though I don't have a PSP, GIVE ME THE REDESIGN NOW). But please people, don't overhype this game.
Hyping it up will give people crazy ideas about what they hope it's gonna be and it then won't be. Like for instance fully destructable surroundings, as cool as that sounds that just fu*king impossible.
It's going to be great, but please DON'T hype it too much.
I agree with you, don't overhype it(its not a Halo killer, it is it's own game) don't believe all of the hype you hear (same goes for any game including Halo 3, and then be impressed when the game is released.
Giving any game a "killer" title to counter another title never worked. The developers stated during their first game that they didn't want their game to be called a Halo killer, still the media kept saying it.
And that was really stupid in my opinion. I mean the Xbox 1 was more powerfull then the PS2 and really good for FPS, Halo was really good, so how was a quite inexperienced developer (they only made stupid looney tunes game and shell shock nam) going to surpass Halo on the PS2 hardware.
I liked Killzone very much (It had a good story and it was a better attempt than the previous things Guerrila did) by not seeing it as a Halo killer.
I can't wait for some gameplay videos of Killzone 2, I'm gonna judge whether I think its exceeds the E3'05 CGI trailer. Second, why don't I keep my Xbox 360 with its great games and get the PS3 for MGS4 and Killzone 2 if they both turn out to be amazing.
I can't wait for Halo. RFOM turn me into an fps fan. I also can't wait for Killzone2. BRING IT!!
is going to surprise many @ how much better it is than the first one alone. The first KILLZONE is a PS2 cult classic and I expect this one to reel in not only loyalist to the series, but die-hard haters as well. Mark my words: This game will capture the attention of many once complete. It will surely be a "flagship" title that will sell consoles to the base and convert the obstinate and indecisive. This you will see. I wish there would've been more information about the PS3 version fleshed out in the interview, but I kind of enjoy how coy there being with the whole thing. It helps to really give it that top secret, "special project" feel. Zonetrooper5 really hit it on the head & in the end -- Haters will hate and gamers will game.
nothing much here.......
that the problem people always mark a game a fake remake of the game that is popular in that genre.
even Resistance equals Halo.
The media feeds u guys so much crap and u take it all in.
Do u know how much Good ideas the getaway brung to the table?grapple systems and when you recieve damage and breath harder and harder. Leaning against walls to recover ur health(no picking up floating heart icons). This game was revolutionary the story was gripping. i want you to play this game and say it sucked.
Killzone- Dashing with L3 or cooking grenades, the action was non-stop. The story was epic.
I'm tired of haters.
i'm not saying that the ps2 parallels are better i'm just saying stop comparing it's stupid. y do u care if we want to buy the game?
bablon - "Like for instance fully destructable surroundings, as cool as that sounds that just fu*king impossible" - it is possible - how u ask - 120 dev + cell = very possible and ull see it
further proof is the tech demo of last years E3 - the leafs with the tornados going around - they stated that each leaf can have its own sound etc etc...and there were millions of leafs floating around.
this game will push consoles no questions - i feel halo3 wont push consoles as every1 that loves halo has a 360 already - and the game isnt amazing as "i must have that game" - when killzone comes out i can almost promise u thats what ppl will see.
i also agree that no1 should be comparing titles as "killer" or whatever but i can tell u this time around sony is doing it rite - from games to the PS3 it honestly looks like they have put alot of time into the future of the PS3 brand.
i cant wait for E3 to get a glimpse of it in action
but i could already see the xbots - saying it only looks 95% of how the E3 trailer look like blah blah blah lol but if they can even get 80% of the trailer that is still amazing!!!!
