IGN: E3 2009: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Slayin'

In case you didn't know, Monster Hunter fans are fricking crazy. IGN has met a bunch in their travels, and although they enjoyed Monster Hunter Freedom 2, these kids put them to shame. They've logged more than 300 hours, they've imported the latest games, and they'll spare no expense to play their favorite franchise.

Thankfully -- because there would be riots in the streets if this didn't happen -- Monster Hunter Freedom Unite allows those fans to take the MHF2 characters they've poured so much time into from their memory stick and into the new game.

I was stoked for a PS3 version of MH from before I even got my console back in early 2007.

Monster Hunter could have been absolutely incredible on a hi-def machine. I even WANTED the title to go multiplat so that more people could "enjoy" it (If you've played the game, you'll know why I put the inverted commas in there =) ), instead it was whipped away and moved onto the Wii. Now if they bought out Wii-mote attacaments to mimic the weapons in the game, I'd be considering getting a Wii... Imagine swinging a sword the size of a small horse around your living room! Awesome! (expensive!) but Awesome!!!

Maybe one day I'll be able to fight with a few pals against a hi-def Rathalos or Fatalis but until that time comes, I guess I'll be sticking to local games on the PSP.
