Fans are working to bring Rare's canceled Dinosaur Planet to PC, the game that eventually became Star Fox Adventures on the Game Cube.
Now here is a nice surprise for all Nintendo 64 fans. Forest of Illusion has leaked Rare's cancelled Nintendo 64 game, Dinosaur Planet.
It’s not surprising Dinosaur Planet was reworked into Star Fox Adventures. The main character in the presented footage already looks very similar to Fox Mccloud.
After all these years, I thought I’d never have the chance to play the “original” Star Fox Adventures. Forest of illusions are heroes for restoring these game prototypes.
They cancelled it because Microsoft did not want to launch Dinosaur Planet on Xbox? That'd seem to be a bad decision if true.
Nah. This was a basically finished build of a game RARE tried pitching to Nintendo to publish.
They liked it, but Miyamoto saw the potential in making it an official Star Fox game. So RARE reworked assets and elements of the story, and what we got was Star Fox Adcentures on the Gamecube.
So this is just that original vision for the game, before they made the changes.
